C14 He Came to Let Them Go.

"What are you up to?"

Muh Jingyan hadn't heard his voice in days and had nearly forgotten him. Her response was icy, "The hospital."

The word 'hospital' made his voice waver with concern. He pressed urgently, "What happened? Are you okay? Which hospital are you in? I'm coming to find you!"

His tone brimmed with genuine worry and haste.

Muh Jingyan, unable to decipher this man's thoughts, was guarded due to past hurts. She refused to let another man close.

"There's no need. I'm on my way back," she replied coolly, avoiding further entanglement with him.

"Where are you?" Yung Mo's voice came through again, deeper, more commanding, as if he wouldn't rest until he got an answer.

Muh Jingyan frowned, chose not to respond, and abruptly ended the call.

Yung Mo stared at the disconnected call, his dark gaze turning icy, his handsome face marked by displeasure.

She had the audacity to hang up on him.

He snatched his coat and bolted downstairs, driving straight for the hospital. He was determined to find her.

Back at school, Muh Jingyan spotted two anxious figures beneath the dormitory: Su's father and mother. They looked visibly aged from worry. Su's mother's hair had grayed, and Su's father appeared gaunt.

Upon seeing Muh Jingyan, they rushed over and knelt, pleading desperately.

"Yan, I was wrong before. Please ask Mr. Yung to spare the Su's!"

"Yes, Yan, I admit my mistakes. The Su's is on the brink. Please get Mr. Yung to back off. Whatever you want, we'll agree. Do you wish to marry Soong Xian? I'll make it happen!"

Muh Jingyan, puzzled and slightly irked by their kneeling, commanded, "What is this? Stand up!"

"No, we won't stand until you agree," they insisted, tears streaking Su's mother's face, drawing scornful glances from passing students.

"I'm in the dark here. How can I agree to your request?"

Muh Jingyan had once considered taking down the Su's Group, especially after Su Bolen saved her life. Despite his ulterior motives, he was her savior, and she had since abandoned such thoughts.

"It's Mr. Yung. He's bought all our shares, driving down the price. Our old clients have cut ties, our stock has plummeted, and employees are threatening us. He's avenging you, but the Su's can't survive this. Help us, for we are your benefactors!"

"Just call Mr. Yung, we promise to treat you right from now on. Yan, we're begging you!"

Only then did Muh Jingyan realize Yung Mo had retaliated against the Su family for her sake. He'd not only poached their clients but also tanked their stock, pushing them to the brink of bankruptcy.

Surprised, she pondered whether Yung Mo had acted solely on her behalf. Without her adoptive parents' plea, she would've been oblivious to his actions. Confusion flickered in her cool gaze.

Why did he do this? Was it all for her?

"I understand. I'll speak with him. Go home for now," she said, her brow furrowed, uncomfortable with their display, especially under the judgmental eyes of onlookers.

"Okay, we'll wait for news. Thank you," they said, rising and leaving.

As they departed, Muh Jingyan dialed the number, her first proactive call to him. His deep, magnetic voice answered.

"Where are you?" Yung Mo, having searched multiple hospitals, was frustrated and anxious.

He hadn't expected her call. It was a first, and his face betrayed his excitement.

"I'm at the university," she stated flatly.

"Wait for me," Yung Mo replied tersely, then hung up and drove toward A University.

After Su's parents left, Muh Jingyan made her way to the university's entrance to await Yung Mo. Soon, a sleek black Maybach pulled up to the curb.

Muh Jingyan's presence was immediately noticed by Yung Mo. With a frosty demeanor, she strode towards the Maybach, swung the door open, and settled into the seat.

"Did you have a hand in the attack on the Su family?" Muh Jingyan inquired, her gaze fixed on him.

Today, Yung Mo was impeccably dressed in a sharp black suit, which only accentuated the allure of his stern, refined features.

He carried himself with an air of aristocratic grace, his gaze intense and predatory, like a cheetah fixated on her.

Instead of answering, Yung Mo quickly grasped Muh Jingyan, examining her from head to toe before pressing his hand to her forehead.

Realizing she was neither hurt nor feverish, he asked with concern, "Are you still feeling unwell?"

At Yung Mo's question, Muh Jingyan's brow creased ever so slightly, and she shook her head, her usually icy voice tinged with a hint of softness. "It wasn't me. I'm alright. I was just visiting a friend."

"A friend?" The notion of Muh Jingyan visiting a friend in the hospital caused Yung Mo's striking face to cloud over with displeasure.

A chill and a sense of danger emanated from his eyes as he exuded an intimidating presence. "A man or a woman?"

"A woman, my roommate," Muh Jingyan replied, her frown deepening, yet she remained forthright.

Yung Mo's tension eased, but his resolute gaze never left Muh Jingyan's striking, icy visage.

Without warning, he pulled her entire frame into his embrace and captured her sweet lips in a kiss.
