C3 Who Do You Think You Are??

The door shut with a definitive click, and Yung Mo's austere visage, along with the profound darkness in his eyes, seemed to deepen further.

He glanced down at the stark red stain on the sheets before his gaze flickered indifferently to the 100 yuan left on the bed. His expression grew increasingly enigmatic.

After a moment, Yung Mo, now neatly dressed, called out to the corridor.

"Enter!"

"Sir!" Four subordinates, clad in black, respectfully entered, standing erect before Yung Mo, awaiting his command.

"Find out everything about her," Yung Mo commanded, his posture relaxed into the sofa's embrace, exuding the regal air of a lion king at rest. 'Her' referred to none other than Muh Jingyan.

"Yes, Sir!" they replied in unison, bowing slightly.

"Any updates?" Yung Mo inquired.

"Special Assistant Yun reported this morning that all is quiet among the prominent families," one subordinate began, pausing under Yung Mo's piercing gaze. "However, the Hee family patriarch visited the Yung estate with Miss Hee, likely discussing a marriage alliance."

"The Hee family!" A chilling intent flickered in Yung Mo's shadowed eyes. He looked up sharply, "What else?"

"The elder has not consented. He seems to be waiting for your return to handle the matter. Yet, he appears quite taken with the proposed union. He's inquiring about your return," the man reported with due respect.

"He dares to meddle in my affairs!" Yung Mo's eyes darkened with a dangerous glint.

"Anything else?" he asked, noting their hesitation to leave.

"Sir, the Su family has been informed of your arrival in B City. They've extended an invitation to Miss Su Mo's engagement party," another man spoke up, maintaining a deferential tone.

"The Su family?" Yung Mo's response was cool, detached.

"Very well."

The men exchanged surprised glances. For someone of Yung Mo's stature, the Su family of B City was trivial, and he had never before shown them any regard. Their curiosity piqued, but they dared not question him.

Yung Mo had his reasons, and they were there to execute his will.

"Yes, sir."

Once alone, Yung Mo rose gracefully and approached the floor-to-ceiling windows, his gaze icy and detached. His presence commanded attention, his thoughts inscrutable.

Meanwhile, Muh Jingyan, weary and aching, had left the Haoyue Hotel, cursing Yung Mo for her exhaustion. Upon her return to campus, she was met with whispers and scornful looks.

"Look, that's Muh Jingyan from the finance department. How can she show her face here?"

"She's shameless. I'd be mortified in her place!"

"She's pretty, but that's it. I heard she's the Su's foster daughter, and she's so ungrateful, stealing her sister's fiancé!"

"Thank goodness Senior Su Mo is forgiving."

Muh Jingyan's frown deepened at the derision, her expression growing colder. She ignored the stares and made her way to the dormitory.

Her phone rang just as she reached the building. It was Leng Qianqian, her roommate. She answered.

"Yan, are you okay? Where are you? What happened last night? You didn't come back. I was worried," Leng Qianqian's voice was fraught with concern.

"Did you hear about Soong Xian and Su Mo's engagement? The whole school knows. Ignore the gossip, just come back."

A flicker of warmth passed through Muh Jingyan's icy resolve. Leng Qianqian remained her steadfast friend.

"Qianqian, I'm fine. I'm downstairs, about to head up," she reassured her before hanging up.

As she turned towards the dorm, a gentle voice halted her.

"Jingyan!"

Muh Jingyan's eyes turned frosty at the sound. Facing the man approaching her, she couldn't help but sneer. She understood now why she felt no affection for him, even with her lost memories. He bore too striking a resemblance to Qin Yunkai, and it filled her with an urge to lash out.

"What is it?" she asked coolly, her gaze on Soong Xian icy.

"Jingyan, I'm sorry. I'm here to invite you to Mo and my engagement party," Soong Xian said, his demeanor still gentle and scholarly, his eyes soft on Muh Jingyan.

Muh Jingyan couldn't help but laugh, her usually cool demeanor making her delicate features even more striking. She radiated a presence that was entirely different from before—noble and aloof.

She regarded Soong Xian with an air of superiority, her gaze icy. "Rest assured, I'll be at the engagement party on time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm heading up!" With that, she turned to ascend the stairs, but Soong Xian grabbed her arm.

"Jingyan, please, don't be like this. If you're upset, yell at me. I never intended to hurt you—I truly care for you and will continue to do so. But my family obligations dictate that I must marry your sister. You're aware that you're not the biological daughter of the Su family. If it were up to me, you'd be the one I'd marry."

Her response to Soong Xian's plea was a scornful laugh. She turned to face him, her eyes filled with disdain. "Soong Xian, who do you think you are? Are you really worth my sorrow? Don't flatter yourself. Even if I were the Su family's daughter, I would never marry a lowlife like you. Let go of me!"

"Jingyan!" he exclaimed.

But before Soong Xian could say another word, Muh Jingyan sent him tumbling to the ground with a swift kick. Her voice was icy as she warned, "Don't make me resort to violence. If you value your life, stay away from me!"

With those final words, she adjusted her attire and strode toward the dormitory building, her posture regal, her aura untouchable. She was a far cry from the sweet, gentle woman she had once been.

Soong Xian watched her go, dumbstruck, as if truly seeing Muh Jingyan for the first time. He remained seated on the ground, lost in shock, until the jeers and whispers of onlookers snapped him back to reality. With a furrowed brow and a grimace, he picked himself up and left the dormitory complex.
