C8 This Is a Good Show!

"This play is quite impressive!" she heard a deep, magnetic voice whisper near her ear.

A warm breath tickled her neck, prompting an involuntary frown of annoyance. She tensed up and shot Yung Mo an irritated glare.

He sensed the rigidity in her frame and a spark of curiosity flickered in his gaze.

They had been intimate just once, but that was enough for him to pinpoint her body's most sensitive spots with precision.

As Su Mo made her entrance, the guests' eyes collectively turned to her, their gazes laced with scorn and contempt.

Even Soong Xian's parents, who had always been fond of her, now looked on with derision. Soong Xian's expression grew dark.

Surveying the crowd's reaction, a flicker of panic crossed Su Mo's eyes.

Had they discovered what happened in the lounge? What else could explain their disdainful stares?

"Daddy, Mommy, what's going on? Why is everyone looking at me like that?" Su Mo's voice remained soft, her smile gentle as she faced her parents, her act flawless.

But many had seen through her facade. The gentler she appeared, the more their disgust grew.

Su's father, consumed by rage, slapped Su Mo fiercely across the face. "What did you do in the lounge? I've raised you with such care, and this is how you repay your mother and me?"

Hearing her father bring up the lounge and seeing the sneers around her, Su Mo's face drained of color. She swayed, barely able to keep up the pretense. They knew, didn't they?

Biting back her distress, she forced an awkward smile. "Daddy, what are you talking about? I don't understand!"

Su's father struck her again, harder this time. He winced at her bruised face, his heart aching, yet his anger deepened.

"Stop hitting her. Mo, did someone threaten you in the lounge? You were set up, weren't you?" Su's mother intervened, unable to watch any longer, and gave her daughter a knowing look.

Su Mo was taken aback by her mother's words.

So, it was out. She looked up, her expression shifting as she locked eyes with Muh Jingyan.

"It was you, wasn't it? You told them, sister? How could you do this to me? My parents took pity on you, and I've always treated you like my own sister. I know you like Xian, but you can't frame me like this.

"If you wanted Xian, you could've just told me. No matter how much I care for him, I would have stepped aside for you. But how could you arrange for such a thing to happen to me? I can't go on living!"

Su Mo sobbed, her face a mask of injustice, her swollen, tear-streaked features begging for sympathy.

Muh Jingyan watched her with a hint of amusement, her voice laced with sarcasm. "You accuse me of framing you—where's your proof? Besides, everyone saw how much you seemed to be enjoying yourself earlier. Now you're claiming I set you up. Are you trying to frame me?"

Initially, the crowd had been swayed by Su Mo's accusations, but Muh Jingyan's retort, coupled with the memory of the earlier scene, shifted their opinion, and they regarded Su Mo with renewed disdain.

She was shameless, trying to pin her own disgraceful actions on her sister.

Hearing Muh Jingyan's response, Su Mo's face grew even whiter.

Muh Jingyan had always endured Su Mo's bullying and insults without a word. How had she suddenly become so articulate? Su Mo's heart raced as she felt the weight of the surrounding stares.

She was the envied heiress of the Su family! If word of today's events spread, what would become of her?

Xian needed the Su family's support; he wouldn't abandon her.

"Xian, you must believe me, I didn't betray you—I was framed!"

"Even if you were framed, the Soong family cannot accept someone of your character!" Mother Soong declared, pulling Soong Xian away.

Soong Xian remained silent, allowing his mother to lead him away. Su Mo watched him go, her body trembling, her face ashen.

As Soong Xian passed Muh Jingyan, he paused, his eyes narrowing at her cool, mocking demeanor.

He glanced at the man standing protectively beside her, a shadow flickering in his eyes, but he quickly moved on, following his mother.

Father Soong snorted dismissively and departed. The other guests, having had their fill of drama, dispersed, each wearing a smirk.

The Su family had certainly made a spectacle of themselves. An engagement party meant to be joyous had turned into a farce, providing entertainment for all.

By the next day, the Su family's scandal would surely be the talk of B City.

"Muh Jingyan, you resent me for winning Xian's affection, and that's why you've done this. You spiteful woman, I won't let this go!" Su Mo shouted after everyone had left, her composure shattered by fury.

"I'm merely exacting my revenge. How does it feel, to be on the receiving end of a drugging?" Muh Jingyan scoffed, the chill in her gaze unmistakable.

"Get out! The Su family will not welcome you ever again!" Su's mother, livid, pointed at Muh Jingyan, her voice thunderous with rage.

"I never intended to stick around. However, in light of your once having saved my life, I'll grant you mercy this time," Muh Jingyan stated icily before she haughtily made her way to the hotel's grand entrance.

Her posture was rigid, her face a mask of frosty indifference, so much so that even Yung Mo found himself momentarily dazed.

Casting a glance at the incensed members of the Su family, a sharp glint of lethal intent swept through Yung Mo's shadowy, profound eyes. Trailing a few steps behind Muh Jingyan, he dialed a number.

Once the call connected, he commanded, "I want the Su family of B City bankrupt in three days."

Yung Mo quickened his pace to catch up with Muh Jingyan, enfolding her in his embrace once more.

"Let go of me, or I'll take action!" Muh Jingyan turned, her frown deep with displeasure, her icy stare boring into Yung Mo, her demeanor far from playful.
