C66 Witch Displayed Her Might

Han Feng quickly assured her, "If I'm lying, you have every right to kill me. Given my abilities, I'm no match for you."

The Witch ceased to look at Han Feng, instead closing her eyes in anticipation.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Han Feng mused, "I'm curious how Hei One would fare if he encountered the Witch here."

From the Witch, Han Feng sensed an immense pressure.

It was more of an overwhelming presence.

This presence was significantly more formidable than that of Instructors Lin and Mu.

And this was while she was injured; her strength at her peak remained unknown.

Clearly, the Witch was at the late Human Rank, if not higher.

In the valley, several figures swiftly appeared, surveying the Devil Beast carcass below.

Hei One's face turned grave. "This is a mid-stage Level-6 Devil Beast, and it's dead!"

"He's incredibly fortunate. He stumbled into a Level-6 Devil Beast's territory, and the beast is dead."

Hei Two let out a cold laugh. "He probably thought we'd be too scared to enter a Level-6 Devil Beast's domain. I'm at Four-star Human Rank, and you're even stronger at Five-star. Together, we could take on an ordinary Level-6 Devil Beast."

"With our brothers united, we can even slay a late-stage Level-6 Devil Beast, and we're a match for a peak Level-6 Devil Beast. We wouldn't be frightened off by any Level-6 Devil Beast."

Hei One and the other five men sneered as they pursued Han Feng.

As Han Feng sat cultivating on the ground, the Witch's voice broke the silence, "Some from the Chang family have indeed arrived."

Han Feng opened his eyes, smiling. "See? I wasn't lying."

The Witch huffed, "Be that as it may, I won't kill you. But don't get any ideas about leaving until my wounds are fully healed."

Han Feng had anticipated this. He could tell the Witch was gravely injured and moving with difficulty. She might need his assistance and wouldn't let him leave so easily.

Besides, they had only just met; the Witch wouldn't trust him right away. What if he left to send word to others?

Han Feng had no intention of betraying her, but the Witch couldn't be sure of that.

Currently, the Chang family is temporarily hosting an elder from the Lin family. Given the Witch's injuries, she's clearly outmatched by the elder.

Yet, Han Feng harbors no ill will toward the Witch for not allowing him to leave.

Putting himself in her position, he might have killed to prevent a leak of his own information, even if it meant taking an innocent life.

This suggests that the Witch isn't inherently cruel or bloodthirsty.

It's highly probable that the Lin family concocted the earlier rumors to turn people against the Witch.

Anxiously, Han Feng awaited what would happen next.

Despite her formidable powers, the Witch was wounded.

In contrast, Hei One and his companions were at the height of their strength, particularly Hei One and Hei Two, who were mid-stage Human Rank powerhouses.

Before long, Hei One and his group arrived on the scene.

Upon seeing the Witch, Hei One's expression stiffened.

Hei Two's face, however, turned pale with shock. "It's the Witch!"

Hei Three and the rest were visibly shaken.

After all, the Witch had slain an eight-star Human Rank expert from their Chang family.

Hei One's demeanor became grave.

With a mocking laugh, the Witch said, "The Chang family sure knows how to linger like a bad spirit. Are you that eager to be the Lin family's lapdogs?"

"Silence!" Hei One, ever loyal to Master Chang, bristled at the Witch's insult to his family.

Hei One spoke with icy resolve, "Witch, I acknowledge your strength, but you're gravely injured. A battle between us would likely end with both sides suffering. Let's compromise. Release the young man from the Han family, and we'll call it even."

The Han family? The Witch gave Han Feng a profound glance. This young man was no ordinary individual.

Feeling the weight of her gaze, Han Feng's heart skipped a beat, unease creeping in. What if the Witch accepted their offer?

But then he steadied himself.

The Witch had killed someone from the Chang family; they were locked in a life-or-death struggle. She wouldn't foolishly accept their terms.

True to his reasoning, the Witch scoffed, "Quite the scheme you've concocted. Hand him over, and you complete your mission while also delivering my whereabouts to the Lin family. I'm no fool. I will protect him at all costs. Moreover, it's the Chang family that will meet their end!"

Hei Two couldn't contain himself and spat out, "Just as I thought, a vile woman!"

The Witch's expression turned icy, "Is the entire Chang family so brazen and shameless? It's no surprise you're associated with so many revolting things. I've already taken care of the previous filth, and now it seems it's your turn."

"Thunder Whip!"

A violet lash of light burst forth from the Witch's hand.

"Golden Essence Finger!"

Their clash was brief, and in an instant, Hei Two was sent flying, crashing heavily against the stone wall.

None reacted, save for Hei One, who was utterly taken aback.

Hei One's heart raced with fear, "It's no wonder she could slay an eight-star Human Rank expert. Even wounded, she remains formidable."

At that moment, Hei One considered retreat.

With his hands clasped in a fist, Hei One pleaded, "We were wrong to disrespect you. For the sake of the Chang family, please let us leave."

The Witch smirked with disdain, "The Chang family is of little consequence to me."

"Had it not been for that old man from the Lin family, I would have eradicated the Changs long ago."

"There's no chance I'll spare you!"

Enraged, Hei One bellowed, "So you truly are the Witch. We won't make it easy for you, even in death. Brothers, give it everything you've got!"

"Earth Spike!"

"Three Flames Palm!"

"Water Wave Palm!"

"Explosive Fist!"

"Wind Illusion Leg!"

The Earth Spike, Three Flames Palm, Water Wave Palm, Explosive Fist, and Wind Illusion Leg were unleashed in unison, their power reverberating loudly.

The valley thrummed with the oppressive force of True Qi.

Han Feng's complexion went ashen. Such a battle was beyond his capacity to join.

His eyes ablaze with determination, Han Feng vowed, "I must advance to the Human Rank quickly!"

To Han Feng, these strikes were formidable, but for the Witch, they were trivial.

"Thunder Whip!"

The Witch called out sharply, and this time, five bolts of lightning sprang from her fingertips.

The assaults were feeble against the Thunder Whip, which effortlessly shattered the combined attacks of the five assailants.

As they watched in horror, the relentless Thunder Whip continued its assault upon them.

Five agonized screams pierced the air as Hei One and his four companions were scorched black and collapsed to the ground.

Hei Two, previously sent flying and grievously injured, witnessed this and, forsaking his sorrow, attempted to flee. But a streak of purple light struck, and he met the same fate as Hei One.

Han Feng watched the scene before him in stunned silence, swallowing hard. The Witch was formidable—far too formidable for him to cross.

Observing Han Feng's stupor, the Witch sneered with contempt. "My Thunder Whip is a top-quality Human Rank martial skill. How could a bunch of lower-grade Human Rank individuals possibly withstand it?"
