C70 Breaking Through to the Onestar Human Rank!

Indeed, after several days, Han Feng successfully advanced his cultivation foundation to the very brink of the Late Mortal Rank. The cost, however, was the depletion of all the Spirit Stones he had taken with him. Now, Han Feng had only five Human Origin Fruits left for his breakthrough to enhance his strength. He had started his journey with three of these fruits, and the remaining two had been cultivated using a considerable amount of origin fluid.

With no Spirit Stones left and the origin fluid nearly spent, Han Feng couldn't even begin to cultivate a sixth Human Origin Fruit. The Witch, on the other hand, possessed Spirit Stones, but given her strength, she typically used Lower-grade, Top-grade, or even the finest of the Lower-grade Spirit Stones for her cultivation. Han Feng had even seen her produce a few of these premium Lower-grade Spirit Stones, which were beyond his ability to refine until he achieved Human Rank.

Determined, Han Feng resolved to borrow some Lower-grade Medium-grade and Upper-grade Spirit Stones after his breakthrough. This wouldn't raise any undue suspicion from the Witch, as it was commonplace for Human-rank Martial Cultivators to use Lower-grade Spirit Stones for their cultivation.

Han Feng shrugged and said to Sister Lin, "You're aware of what I'm capable of. If I were any slower, I might as well consider ending it all."

Lin Qingshan tapped Han Feng's forehead lightly and replied, "Even so, I've yet to see a Mortal-rank Martial Cultivator rely on Level-four pills to reach the Late Mortal Rank's peak in just a few days. But let's set that aside for now and focus on finding a place to rest."

"I plan to rest for three or four days. With your Spirit Liquid, that should be enough time for me to regain over ninety percent of my strength."

"You've reached the pinnacle of the Late Mortal Rank. It's time for your breakthrough."

Together, they made their way into the city with ease. This city, also of Human-level status, didn't quite measure up to Renzhong City. Named Renkang City, it was established only a decade ago. The major families within were still locked in fierce rivalry, a stark contrast to Renzhong City, where the Chang, Han, and Hong families held clear dominance.

Similarly, due to the city's recent establishment, the martial cultivators within its walls were generally of a lower level.

Strolling down the main thoroughfare, one would encounter mostly ordinary folk. Among every ten individuals, you might spot a single martial cultivator, and even then, they'd likely be at the early stages of the Mortal Rank.

Those at the middle stages of the Mortal Rank were few and far between, not to mention the late stages.

Human Rank martial cultivators were an even rarer sight.

Observing Han Feng's restless gaze, Lin Qingshan chuckled and remarked, "In a newly founded city like this, it's quite impressive for a powerful clan to boast over ten Human Rank experts. If I'm not mistaken, there's no way Renkang City has any late-stage Human Rank masters, let alone higher."

"From what I've gathered, Renkang City has only recently gained recognition from the Great Jin Nation. They're in the process of appointing a City Lord. I'd wager that within a year or two, we'll see a City Lord taking charge here."

"My choice to come here was strategic; the martial cultivators are of a lower level, posing no threat to us."

Han Feng's expression turned to one of disappointment as he withdrew his gaze.

The pair soon discovered a top-tier inn within Renkang City and settled in.

Each took a room and began their solitary cultivation.

In his quarters, Han Feng inhaled deeply, optimizing his condition before finally producing the Human Origin Fruit.

He processed the fruit into origin fluid and consumed it sip by sip, causing the Attribute Genuine Qi within him to surge wildly.

After consuming the entire batch of origin fluid from the Human Origin Fruit, Han Feng felt his meridians swell with a painful sensation.

His True Qi thundered like a stampede of countless horses.

"Nine Flames And Strange Fire Art, refine!" he commanded.

The tumultuous True Qi began to stabilize under the constraint of the first layer of the Nine Flames And Strange Fire Art, charging towards his twelve meridians.

The night flew by.

As dawn approached, a sudden noise erupted from within Han Feng's body.

In an instant, his body jolted, and he released his True Qi.

The bed was riddled with countless cracks, and gradually, Han Feng stabilized.

At this moment, Han Feng had transcended the Mortal Rank to become a Human Rank Martial Cultivator, officially entering the ranks of true Martial Cultivators. While Mortal Rank was akin to an apprenticeship, Human Rank signified one's status as a bona fide Martial Cultivator. In smaller regions, Human Rank practitioners were often the prevailing force, as was the case in places like Renzhong City and Renkang City.

Han Feng's training was far from complete. The Human Origin Fruit alone could propel a Martial Cultivator at the peak of the Late Mortal Rank into the early stages of the Human Rank, which was commendable. But the true potential of the Human Origin Fruit lay in its origin fluid, which could unlock the fruit's full power. Merely reaching the initial phase of the Human Rank was not the endpoint.

As the hours ticked by, noon arrived. It was then that Han Feng had fully absorbed the energy of the Human Origin Fruit's origin fluid, elevating his cultivation foundation to the pinnacle of the Mid Human Rank. He was now only a step away from advancing to the Late Human Rank.

Opening his eyes, Han Feng's gaze sparkled with excitement. It had been a mere three months since he first cultivated his Internal Strength. To have progressed from scratch to the peak of the Mid Human Rank in such a short time was an achievement few scions of the Great Jin Nation's noble families could claim.

With a flick of his wrist, Han Feng summoned the "Profound Flame Chain!" The crimson chain shot forth, solid and unyielding, leaving a lengthy scar upon the earth with a mere sweep. Han Feng had been practicing with the Profound Flame Chain for days, yet had never managed to master even the first layer. The root of the issue was a lack of True Qi to sustain it. But now, having broken through to the peak of the Mid Human Rank, the situation had changed dramatically.

If he were to confront Hei Seven now, Han Feng was confident he could defeat him in the blink of an eye. Such was the gap between their strengths.

A growl from his stomach interrupted his thoughts. Han Feng patted his belly, realizing he was quite hungry. Even as a Human Rank Martial Cultivator, one couldn't escape the needs of the mortal body. Three square meals a day were essential, and some with larger appetites would indulge in four or five.

Human-rank Martial Cultivators still require the sustenance of regular meals—three times a day is a must, and for those with larger appetites, four or five meals might be the norm. However, once one ascends to the Mystic Rank, their need for food significantly diminishes, and the craving for ordinary meals lessens.

Upon reaching the Earth Rank, skipping meals for a day or two poses no issue. And for those at the Heaven-rank, going without food for half a month, or even a full month, barely impacts them. Legend has it that Martial Cultivators who surpass the Heaven-rank can draw energy directly from the cosmos itself, remaining untroubled by hunger as long as the heavens and earth endure and the spiritual energy between them remains unexhausted.

As Han Feng stepped out of his room, he coincidentally encountered Lin Qingshan exiting hers. Her eyes landed on him, and with a note of surprise, she said, "You've made a breakthrough already?"

Han Feng had indeed just advanced in his cultivation and hadn't had a chance to disguise his progress, which Lin Qingshan immediately noticed.

With a sheepish grin, Han Feng touched the back of his head, "Just a stroke of luck."

Lin Qingshan dismissed the notion with a wave of her hand, "If only luck like yours came by more often. Since we're both here, why don't we head downstairs for a meal?"

"Sounds good to me," Han Feng agreed without hesitation.

On the ground floor, Han Feng ordered some delectable dishes and struck up a conversation with Lin Qingshan. Meanwhile, many onlookers from the second floor discreetly observed the pair, particularly Lin Qingshan.
