Luna

I woke up in an unfamiliar place. Lying on the bed with both hands and feet tied. I felt a little dizzy. I try to remember what happened and how I got here.

Flashback

"Commander we are surrounded"

"Retreat" I shouted. I can't believe that their forces are this strong.

"Partner" shouted from a distance

"Santos, what happened?" I quickly stood up to approach them.

I saw Santiago lying on the ground. He had a bullet wound in his body. Shit we can't leave when there's nothing left to get the enemy's attention. I am their commander and they are all my responsibility.

"Ramos, yes commander"

"You will take care of them, follow the plan"

"Commander what do you mean?"

"If I can't go back alive tell my Mom that I love her"

"Commander we cant---

"That's an order"

"Commander I will not leave you here"

" Ramos do what I say. Now it's your job to get out of here safely. Lead the team"

"Yes sir. I will ask for back up please stay alive commander"

"Luna, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

"I want to be a soldier"

"Ohh like your dad"

"Yes Mom. I will protect people"

"Good boy" I let out a smile before reaching for my gun. I don't care if this is my last day. Tanggap ko na maaari akong mamatay bago ko to pinasok.

"Run" I shouted

I did everything to make sure they left the battlefield safely and I succeeded now I'm alone here against hundreds of flying armies.

"Fly" means freedom, they act as opponents of City 5 where only five laws are enforced.

Rule 1. You can't say a bad thing againts the rule

Rule 2. Service is more important than education

Rule 3. After turning 10 all men should undergo training to be an army or assassin

Rule 4. All men should marry before 30's

Rule 5. All women must marry at the age of 25 and carry a baby to their womb.

Honesty I can't understand why the law is enforced like that. I didn't grow up in City 5 like my commared. But I have a responsibility to fulfill. Nagtago ako sa masukal na parte ng gubat There is no bullet left in my gun. I sat down before looking up at the sky, a group of birds passed in my sight.

"Fly means freedom sounds interesting"

I raised my two hands when I felt a gun pointed at my head. A hard object hit me next which caused me to lose consciousness.

End of Flashback

Suddenly the bedroom door opened, I closed my eyes and pretended to be sleeping. I felt a cold water poured over my body. I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the person standing in front of me. He has a bird tattoo on his hand.

"What do you need from me? Why did you bring me here?" He didn't answer, he came closer to me and removed the shackles from my hands and feet.

"Follow me, someone wants to talk to you"

I got up and followed the man. Bago pa man ako makalabas sa pinto. Lumingon siya sa akin habang hawak ang isang piring.

He slowly approached and put it on my eyes.

" Where are you taking me?"

"You will find out later" he held my hand as we walked.

A deafening silence prevailed all around unlike in City 5. After five minutes he stopped walking. He removed the blindfold from my eyes before leaving. I looked around. A vast garden appeared before my eyes, full of various flowers. In the distance I saw a man watering a plant.

" Before you can see the beauty of the plant, you have to take care of it so it can grow as you want. Is that right?"

His voice is so warm. I raised a hand to shield my eyes.As if there was some dazzling light coming from him. Light as bright as the sun.

" Who are you?"

" Nice to meet you Commander" the strong wind blew. The sky turned orange with the setting sun. My world seemed to stop while looking at him.

His eyes are as blue as the ocean. He's warm like a sun. I can sense a strong justice in him like my Dad. His face is gentle but his presence is terrifying. He approached me slowly then he suddenly pulled me closer to him. I can feel his warm breath. I can't help but panic for some unknown reason.

"Do you like strawberries?" I bluntly asked while trying to calm myself down.

" No I hate strawberry. Tssk liar I can really smell strawberry. He walked away from me before looking up at the sky.

"Welcome to City 3 Commander"

"Are you their leader?"

"You're right, I am"

"Why haven't you killed me yet, you know what happens when----

"I am not afraid and I fear nothing. Commander, I have a question for you"

" What's that?"

"What are you fighting for. What is the reason why you agreed to be used by them"

"City 3 and City 5 have been fighting for a long time. I don't care what you guys fighting for. I'm here to do my duty"

"And what is that?"

"To eliminate your team"

He laughed loudly before turning to me.

" You seem to have changed Commander Luna" I was surprised how he knew my name.

" Don't be too surprised because I know you better than them.

" What do you mean?" I asked

"Follow me, we have something to talk about"

I took a deep breath before following him. I have prepared myself for what might happen. Even though the enemy caught me, I was happy because my team was able to escape and complete the mission.

While walking I have noticed something. There is a paper airplane hanging in every corner. As far as I know they have beliefs. If you manage to fold a thousand cranes your wish will be granted.

He stopped in front of an old room. He opened the door before going inside. I followed him. Inside there were five men and all of them are staring at me.

"Sit-down" I sat in front of the six of them. This is probably their interrogation room where they torture the captured soldiers.

"I will offer you a deal" I remained silent and listened to what he had to say.

"If you win against me, I will let you return to City 5. But if you lose, you will do as I command"

"I refuse" I answered without hesitation

"Are you sure?" You will be given a chance to get out of here" said one of his companions.

"I don't know what kind of game you want to play. But you theotically use the situation to control me"

" As expected from the youngest Commander of City 5" he said with a smile.

"How does it feel to praise your opponent?"

"It's kind of weird but I like it. Hahaha" he is crazy

"Tell me why you don't want to play with me, are you afraid of losing?"

"I don't know what game you want to play. You also said earlier that you know me better than them. I didn't take a risk on things that I'm not sure off"

"Then you choose what we will fight"

"I refuse" I replied

"Are you sure? Winter season is approaching"

Winter season, coincided with the twentieth anniversary of "Red Snow". Symbol of the bloody battle between City 3 and City 5. As I recall City 5 celebrates such a day. They are proclaiming that they have defeated the forces of the Flying army. I don't know how City 3 celebrates that day. But the painful truth is that no one really wins. In every battle there are parents who lose their children, and there are children who lose their parents.
