C222 Sol War God!
Many believe you possess the potential to be the foremost among the younger generation, and indeed, you currently rank among the top three.
But now, it's clear that their perspective was too limited.
You are the preeminent figure among the youth.
The greatest in the world.
As the words were spoken, a figure emerged, walking slowly through the void.
This was the War God, unmistakably a War God, the very embodiment of one!
Adams watched in awe as the figure descended from the void, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Chu Yi had summoned a War God!
After witnessing Chu Yi's prowess, Adams understood that Chu Yi warranted the intervention of a War God.
For anyone less than a War God would stand no chance against Chu Yi.
Chu Yi, Gold—
His might rivaled that of a War God!
Yet, the outside world remained oblivious. Even the formidable intelligence organization had no clue about Chu Yi's War God-like capabilities.
Not a trace.
Hence, it was certain that the War God had not come with prior knowledge of Chu Yi's strength.
He had come specifically for Chu Yi!
"It's the Sol War God!"
Another Great General from the Solo Truth, gravely wounded, seemed to recognize the newcomer, his eyes betraying his astonishment.
Sol War God?
Chu Yi paused for a moment, then it dawned on him.
"The trio of War Gods stationed in Redmarsh City: War God Xu, War God Luo, and—"
"Sol War God!"
A tremor of recognition passed through Adams's gaze.
Sol War God was the most enigmatic of the three War Gods in Redmarsh City. His mystery wasn't by choice but due to the secretive nature of his jurisdiction.
War God Luo was tasked with the city's overall security, so when the apocalypse struck, he was the first to respond.
War God Xu handled governmental affairs and was the most powerful and influential of the trio.
The third was Sol War God.
Though his authority was limited and his power the least among them, the responsibilities he bore were the most perilous.
He dealt with the eradication of demons and the suppression of nefarious cults, ensuring the hidden aspects of Redmarsh City remained utterly secure. Such was the role of Sol War God.
Sol War God's position meant that he seldom made public appearances, which is why very few people were aware of his existence.
Adams had no other thoughts left in his mind. Once he learned of Sol War God's identity, he realized that Sol War God hadn't come to kill Chu Yi. After all, he was one of the three mighty War Gods of Redmarsh City!
But at this point, it hardly mattered. Adams was no match for Chu Yi and was facing certain death. Whether Sol War God showed up or not was irrelevant.
Yet, in the next instant, Chu Yi acted in a way that puzzled Adams. Common sense dictated that upon the arrival of such an influential figure, Chu Yi should have at least greeted him warmly.
Even though Chu Yi's true strength might rival that of a War God, he was not an actual War God! Chu Yi might become more formidable than a War God in the future, but for now, he was still just Chu Yi.
Facing Sol War God, one of the three titans of Redmarsh, Chu Yi ought to have shown the proper respect. After all, Sol War God had come for him.
But then...
Suddenly, a fearsome presence emerged, swiftly permeating the entire realm. This overwhelming aura didn't originate from Sol War God, but rather from...
Chu Yi!
Recalling Chu Yi's previous words, Adams, who knew his fate was sealed, couldn't help but exhibit a peculiar glint in his eyes. "What in the world is this?"
Chu Yi stepped forward, and behind him, Lee Zi's eyes betrayed her concern. Despite knowing Chu Yi's immense power and that his peak strength was on par with a War God, the prospect of Chu Yi confronting a War God filled Lee Zi with immense anxiety.
War Gods were once considered by Lee Zi to be living deities, gods of warfare, beyond imagination and deserving of the title 'great'. The idea of challenging a War God was something Lee Zi had never even dared to contemplate.
But now...
"Chu Yi, what is the meaning of this?" Sol War God asked, his expression warm and his eyes reflecting a gentle smile. "I came here to rescue you. Even though it seems you no longer need my help, this isn't the way you should be treating me..."
Chu Yi gazed at the Sol War God without uttering a word, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
Lee Zi noticed that Chu Yi's smile wasn't like his usual ones.
The smiles he used to give were warm and inviting, but now, there was a chilling edge to Chu Yi's grin.
"Ah, it seems the youth of today are quite rebellious..."
Sol War God, still smiling, gently shook his head.
He then took a light step forward, gracefully touching down onto the ground.
With a casual wave of his hand, he cleared a pristine space amidst the chaos.
"How did you figure it out?"
Sol War God's smile faded, replaced by a look of curiosity.
Chu Yi shook his head before replying slowly, "Firstly, you arrived too quickly."
Sol War God looked puzzled. "Is arriving quickly a bad thing?"
"It should show how seriously I take your safety..."
Chu Yi's smile turned sardonic. "Yet, it's excessively fast. By any standard timing, I wouldn't even be home yet..."
"And if I hadn't returned home when expected, you wouldn't immediately dispatch a War God to find me, right? You'd first check the surveillance footage."
"That would take a considerable amount of time."
"Normally, even if I had truly disappeared, it wouldn't be you, the Sol War God, to personally intervene, right?"
"Only in situations spiraling out of control would someone of your stature, one of the three top leaders, step in..."
"But now..."
Now, all those steps had been bypassed, and the Sol War God had appeared directly.
The speed was unnaturally fast.
Chu Yi wasn't underestimating the government's efficiency; these were simply the protocols.
Moreover, the time span was too brief!
Despite Lee Zi and Adams's battle, the actual time, excluding their exchange, was less than a minute!
Even including their conversation, by normal standards, Chu Yi would still not have arrived home!
The presence of the Sol War God at this moment was highly irregular.
"Secondly, and there is no third, the most crucial point is this—"
"You've been here all along!"
"Am I right?"
A glint of realization shone in Sol War God's eyes.
"You sensed my presence?"
Chu Yi nodded, then shook his head again.
He was facing a being of War God Level, and while Chu Yi himself could rival a War God, he was ultimately just Gold.
Within the range of his perception, Chu Yi might have been able to detect traces of the Sol War God.
Even if the other party was deliberately hiding, Chu Yi would still manage to find him.
But beyond the reach of his senses...
It was nearly impossible for Chu Yi.
Yet, this time, Chu Yi had indeed sensed something!
If he hadn't, how could he be so certain that the other was harboring hostility towards him?
"You concealed yourself quite well. Had you not let slip a hint of murderous intent when I was about to send Mr. Adams flying with a slap, I might never have detected a War God Level presence lurking in the void," Chu Yi said.
Sol War God let out a deep sigh and shook his head.
"Ah, I didn't expect my slight lapse to be picked up by you."
"Truly, you are the epitome of a prodigy, no..."
"You are a genius!"
"You are the young genius of this era, worthy of vying for the title of Young Sovereign!"
Sol War God was earnest, and indeed, he spoke the truth.
Even Adams had to concede that Sol War God's assessment was spot-on.
A genius was precisely what someone like Chu Yi represented!
He may not have seen it that way before, but now, he agreed more than anyone else.
"Are you also a member of the Only Truth?"
Upon hearing this, Adams became visibly excited.
If Sol War God was indeed the enigmatic war god from the Only Truth, then wouldn't that mean he was safe?
Catching Adams's excitement, Chu Yi smirked with contempt, "Rest assured, whether he is from the Only Truth or not, your fate is sealed..."
Adams froze, then quickly realized the truth.
Indeed, even if the other was from the Only Truth, just like himself, now that his identity was known, why would that matter to them?
To silence a witness by death!
Only the dead can keep secrets!
Adams knew he would have done the same.
"The Only Truth?"
"No, that's not it..."
"However, it wouldn't be entirely accurate to say I have no connection to the Only Truth."
"More precisely, I have a cooperative relationship with the Only Truth."
"Are you satisfied with that explanation?"
Chu Yi nodded.
He simply wanted to ascertain whether the other was the enigmatic War God, the sole possessor of the ultimate truth. If so, it would be ideal. Eliminating him here would mean no longer having to fear a War God Level being lurking in the shadows.
Regrettably, that was not the case.
"To be honest with you, Chu Yi, you really shouldn't have brought these matters to light."
"Having witnessed your strength, I've actually abandoned any intention of killing you."
The Sol War God remained composed. Had Chu Yi possessed merely Diamond-level strength, or even that of a Peak Diamond, the Sol War God would not have hesitated to strike him down.
But the sheer force Chu Yi demonstrated in sending Adams flying was utterly frightening!
The might he revealed in that instant posed a real threat to the Sol War God!
While slaying Chu Yi could yield untold rewards, those prizes seemed insignificant to the Sol War God. Being of War God Level himself, he wasn't particularly concerned with such gains.
Thus, in that moment, the Sol War God had resolved to abandon his pursuit...
