C224 A Battle That Overturned All Knowledge

Was this the target he had set out to kill?

In that moment, Adams began to question whether he had been hexed, for what else could explain his decision to risk exposure by attempting to take down Chu Yi? Chu Yi's recent display had left Adams with the impression that the man was on par with a War God. But that was just a comparison.

Now, Chu Yi had engaged in actual combat with a true War God, not just any War God, but Sol War God, one of the three venerable War Gods tasked with defending Redmarsh City. Despite the odds, Chu Yi held his ground in their first clash, even managing to wound the War God.

Comparable to a War God? Indeed, Chu Yi had demonstrated strength at the War God Level.

Sol War God, on the other hand, exhaled deeply, showing no signs of embarrassment. Such a scene, if witnessed by others, would undoubtedly bring shame upon him. After all, he was a War God, and to be injured by Chu Yi, a mere youth, was an affront of the highest order.

But at present, Sol War God was unconcerned. To him, these individuals were as good as dead. Each and every one of them was marked, and none would escape. Consequently, the memory of his disgrace would die with them...

"Very well, since you've proven your might, I will now regard you as a War God," Sol War God declared, his gaze intensifying. Where he had previously been dismissive, he now radiated a grave seriousness. Clearly, he had come to view Chu Yi as a worthy adversary.

In a fleeting moment, Sol War God's form began to blur, leaving behind only a faint silhouette. The others looked on, momentarily taken aback. Sol War God's shadow lingered, yet to everyone's senses, it was as if he had vanished entirely from the world. What manner of technique was this?

Chu Yi's expression eased slightly. He could sense it. "The power of darkness..." He was tapping into the dark aspect of genetic power. Chu Yi wasn't at all surprised by Sol War God's mastery over this force. It was simple: without grasping the profound nature of power—the genetic power that underpinned this world—one could not hope to reach the stature of a War God. Of course, there were those who achieved the status of War God through sheer physical prowess, following a strict regimen of body cultivation, much like the demons of the Immortal Demon World.

However, such situations are exceedingly rare.

To rely solely on one's physical body to achieve War God status, one would need countless fortuitous encounters; otherwise, it's simply impossible with the essence of human genetics.

That's the harsh reality, and it's unchangeable by anyone.

Sol War God wasn't like those with immense fortunes, so his only path to becoming a War God was through understanding the essence of power.

Chu Yi had already considered this, but what he hadn't anticipated was that Sol War God wielded the power of darkness!

Darkness and light are two opposing forces that are immensely powerful, even within the Immortal Demon World.

Beyond the legendary Origin Power that could create or destroy worlds, there are a few other supreme powers, such as the powers of time, space, life, and death.

Beneath these lies the Origin Power.

Such supreme powers are almost never seen in the Immortal Demon World; an era might pass without witnessing a few who can comprehend them.

Hence, the Origin Power essentially represents the pinnacle of strength.

The powers of metal, wood, water, fire, earth, light, and darkness all fall under Origin Power, with light and darkness being among the most formidable.

Their might is unimaginably fearsome, and those who wield these powers are equally daunting!

Chu Yi could sense that comprehending these Origin Powers in this world might be simpler, but the powers of light and darkness are certainly more challenging than the typical Origin Power!

Yet now, Sol War God has managed to harness such power.

This only indicates one thing: Sol War God is far from the weakest among the three great War Gods as many have imagined!

"Perhaps, you're actually the strongest of the three War Gods..."

Sol War God's ethereal form stayed put, but Chu Yi knew he had already vanished.

He existed within the endless shadows, nowhere and yet everywhere.

This is the essence of Sol War God.

Any other being might be helpless against Sol War God's tactics, trapped in his relentless onslaught.

But, unfortunately for him...

When Chu Yi narrowed his perception to a hundred-meter radius with himself at the core, that space became his world, his domain.

In this world, no entity could escape Chu Yi's grasp unless their power greatly surpassed his own.

Otherwise, it would seem as though they were acting right under Chu Yi's watchful eye.

The Sol War God's mastery of dark forces was nothing short of breathtaking.

But his misfortune was encountering Chu Yi, an existence that completely neutralized his abilities.

Thus, all efforts were in vain...

As if in a daze, Chu Yi launched a punch.

Ripples formed around him, appearing and vanishing in the blink of an eye.

The disturbance was fleeting, gone in just a moment.

Yet, aside from Lee Zi, the only survivors were two Diamond Level Great Generals.

Their strength might not compare to the War God's, but they certainly had keen perception!

They realized that Chu Yi's recent punch had indeed struck the Sol War God!

But how could that be?

They couldn't detect any trace of the Sol War God, not even the slightest sign of his presence.

And Chu Yi, without any apparent effort, had landed a punch so simply?

Could that really be possible?

Perhaps it was merely a coincidence!

That's what they pondered.

But then, punch after punch followed!

Even though Chu Yi's punches weren't exceptionally powerful, the continuous barrage was too much for the Sol War God to bear.

At a distance, the ripples surfaced once more, but this time they lingered.

Within them, the figure of the Sol War God emerged.

Gone was his previous nonchalance; now his face was clouded with a dark, ominous expression.

Clearly, Chu Yi had deciphered his strategy, forcing the Sol War God to abandon his composure.

"How did you manage that?!"

Initially, Chu Yi had sensed his own murderous intent, which in the eyes of the Sol War God, should have been a natural combat intuition.

Such a talent was invaluable in battle.

Yet, the Sol War God's techniques were designed to suppress exactly that kind of talent.

Without reservation, he unleashed his genetic power.

But it shouldn't have been possible!

Chu Yi should never have been able to pinpoint his location!

If it had happened once or twice, one might chalk it up to chance, but Chu Yi had perceived it every time.

Every time he prepared to strike, his adversary would preempt him with a perfectly timed punch, not only disrupting his assault but also inflicting damage upon him. Sol War God realized that his opponent must truly know his tactics; otherwise, these coincidences wouldn't keep happening.

Chu Yi didn't respond directly, instead regarding Sol War God with undisguised contempt. "The power of darkness is the pinnacle of Origin Power. To misuse it as you do, I'd wager that if the darkness itself were sentient, it would certainly strip you of your dark powers!"

Sol War God didn't fully grasp Chu Yi's meaning, but he sensed the underlying insult. He chose to remain silent, aware that further conversation with Chu Yi would only serve to degrade himself.

In a flash, Sol War God made his move once more. This time, he was not merely serious; he began to unleash his full potential. Suddenly, a fearsome disturbance seemed to ripple through the heavens and the earth. The ground shook, and the skies darkened ominously.

"Chu Yi, now you will witness the true essence of a War God!" he declared.

To be a War God, to carry that title, was to be seen as a divine entity by mere mortals. What is a deity, if not a supreme being that wields control over the cosmos?

The force of the universe!

Or, as Sol War God and his peers would call it—the power of rules!

With the force of the universe at his command, Sol War God could alter the very colors of the sky and earth, invoking awe-inspiring phenomena and exerting the ultimate form of domination.

This was the force of the universe!

Adams's complexion turned ashen, yet his eyes sparkled with fervor. This was the power of rules he revered, a force that could transform the world's palette.

This was the embodiment of a true War God!

In that instant, Sol War God, with the terrifying might of the cosmos, bore down upon Chu Yi!

Space and time constricted around them, as Sol War God sought to harness the universe's power to utterly restrict Chu Yi's every move.

Terrifying? Undoubtedly, it was sheer horror.

Most beings, when faced with such might, would likely find themselves incapable of even the slightest resistance.

But to Chu Yi's eyes, such power was trivial.

"This is what you call the power of rules?!" he scoffed. "Ridiculous!"

Chu Yi's voice echoed as Sol War God's eyes widened in astonishment – Chu Yi was moving!

Despite being locked down by the force of rules, Chu Yi managed to move with astonishing fluidity!

This completely overturned Sol War God’s conception of reality.

He had believed that only the power of rules could counter itself and that only those who wielded this power could navigate its influence with ease.

But now...

Chu Yi had shattered that belief once more!

His forceful assault kept upending Sol War God’s understanding, surpassing his wildest imagination!

And then, the punch materialized.

Starlight cascaded from the heavens, unable to be halted even within Sol War God’s own domain.

The stars sketched a resplendent tapestry behind Chu Yi.

In that instant, Sol War God seemed to witness the flow of starlight and the collapse of galaxies!

Visions swirled before his eyes, replaying over and over in his mind.

And there stood Chu Yi, right before Sol War God.

"Shatter!"

With a paramount strike infused with Chu Yi's indomitable conviction, he unleashed a formidable blow, rooted in the supreme immortal arts of the Immortal Demon World.

This was the confrontation Chu Yi craved.

This was the battle Chu Yi had longed for – a genuine clash with Sol War God, a true test of might!

Not a fight relying solely on tactics as before.

This was the manner of battle Chu Yi yearned for!
