C240 (3)

To compile the most precious of them all, that is the true foundation of the Immortal Demon Temple.

Should the Immortal Demon World lack any of these, then naturally, they couldn't be documented.

Yet, the practice of Immortal Demon cultivation...

It was as Chu Yi and Lee Zi had once discussed; in the Immortal Demon World, it was an impossible path!

But in this world, it seemed to have become a possibility.

Moreover, Chu Yi had realized the formidable nature of his physical body, leading him to a definitive conclusion...

...

"Chu Yi, you're awake..."

Opening his eyes, he saw Lee Zi, who had been startled awake.

A smile formed on Chu Yi's lips.

"How long has it been since we left the outskirts?"

Lee Zi checked the time: "It's been only four hours since we left..."

Four hours...

It probably wasn't even midnight yet!

Such a brief span of time.

"How are you feeling?"

Even though she was certain Chu Yi was alright, Lee Zi couldn't help but inquire.

Chu Yi's smile was radiant: "I'm perfectly fine."

"However, to exert my full strength, I reckon I won't be able to for the next few days..."

Chu Yi wasn't entirely truthful.

But then again, it wasn't a lie either.

If Chu Yi wished to exert his full strength, a few lingering injuries wouldn't hinder him.

The truth was, Chu Yi could recover, but he was deliberately slowing down the process.

Indeed!

Such severe injuries, even with top-notch medical methods, wouldn't heal in just a few hours. No one would believe there were no issues.

His recovery had been swift because Chu Yi hadn't held back.

Once his body's self-imposed lockdown was fully lifted, he started to regulate his healing pace.

At present, he had recuperated about seventy to eighty percent.

Yes, this rate of recovery was indeed remarkable, yet still within the realm of believability.

After all, Chu Yi had access to the most elite and rare medicines, reserved for the most distinguished individuals.

If it weren't for Chu Yi leading Redmarsh City into battle tomorrow, he likely wouldn't have had access to such resources...

"You don't need to exert your full strength; seventy to eighty percent should suffice," I remarked.

While Chu Yi and Lee Zi were engaged in conversation, a voice interrupted them. It belonged to War God Xu. Chu Yi's smile grew significantly more genuine at the sight of him. He held War God Xu in high regard, especially since he had offered assistance during the third stage of the national examination. Such aid would have been futile for anyone else, as memorizing an entire map with a mere glance is a feat only possible for Chu Yi, with his extraordinary primordial spirit. Nonetheless, War God Xu's assistance had saved Chu Yi considerable time and effort.

"Good to see you, War God Xu..."

Upon hearing Chu Yi's greeting, War God Xu chuckled, his eyes reflecting complete satisfaction. But his smile soon vanished, replaced by a look of utmost severity.

"Have you taken to heart the lesson from this incident?" he inquired.

Chu Yi paused, his mind racing back to the prior events. The exchange between War God Xu and the others had occurred while his divine sense was sealed, leaving him oblivious to the actual circumstances. He had awakened to find himself here, and despite his primordial spirit's power, he had only caught glimpses of War God Xu, War God Luo, and Adams.

Chu Yi was intrigued by Adams's presence, wondering why he hadn't fled and had instead shown up so boldly. However, it wasn't a matter of concern for him at the moment. Without knowing the full story, Chu Yi refrained from speaking hastily to avoid any missteps. This was where Chu Yi's intelligence shone through; he decided to play along with War God Xu's narrative.

"I realize my mistake and will certainly not repeat it in the future..."

War God Xu gave a slight nod of approval. "Old Nine had already warned you. You're now a prime target for the Demon Clan and the Only Truth organization. After today's events, your ranking is bound to climb into the top three, maybe even to the very top. If the Gold Horn King can appear today, who's to say the ruler of Silverdeer won't show up tomorrow?"

"Therefore, you should keep a low profile when it's necessary. Don't reveal all of your strength to others."

"Also, always be extra careful in your daily life!"

"Even though Redmarsh is renowned for its safety, no one can guarantee that Demon Kings can't infiltrate it!"

Chu Yi nodded in agreement.

He was aware of the conversation between the Gold Horn King and the Sol War God.

The Gold Horn King was likely Mr. Gold, who had been conducting transactions with the Sol War God. The fact that the latter could appear so swiftly suggested that the Gold Horn King was indeed concealed within Redmarsh!

Chu Yi didn't know how it was possible, but it was certainly unsettling.

As War God Xu had pointed out, today we might encounter a Gold Horn King, and tomorrow, the ruler of Silverdeer might emerge!

Redmarsh might appear safe, but in reality, there is no place that is absolutely secure.

True safety depends on oneself.

War God Xu made it clear that Chu Yi had drawn attention by revealing too much of his power, attracting the interest of the elite Demon Clans.

If Chu Yi were to reveal even more, if he were to become even more formidable, making the demons perceive him as a future threat, then perhaps next time, multiple Demon Kings might appear...

"Old Ninth..."

Chu Yi's main concern wasn't this, though.

Indeed, he had been careless this time. But Chu Yi was the type to learn from his mistakes; having erred once, he was determined not to repeat it.

Just as he had become much more cautious after Lee Zi had nearly perished due to his error.

Chu Yi understood War God Xu's advice, yet he listened with respectful attention.

Still, it seemed Chu Yi's focus was slightly misplaced.

"What? Old Ninth didn't tell you?"

Chu Yi looked perplexed.

What was he talking about?

Who was Old Ninth, and who else besides his grandfather had ever cautioned him—

Wait a second...

It dawned on Chu Yi.

"My grandfather?!"

There was a curious look in Chu Yi's eyes.

War God Xu referred to his grandfather as Old Ninth, but what was that all about?

Chu Yi recalled that his grandfather, and by extension, the Chu family, had no other living relatives.

Could it be that War God Xu and my grandfather were sworn brothers?

Chu Yi's imagination began to run wild...

War God Xu snorted with irritation, "That guy is just so unreliable."

Noticing Chu Yi's distracted look, War God Xu couldn't help but chuckle. He knew Chu Yi must be wildly speculating about something.

"Your grandfather, Chu Tianfeng, is my junior brother."

"Since he's the ninth disciple of our master, we all call him Old Ninth."

'So that's it...'

Chu Yi had an epiphany. That would explain why War God Xu didn't recognize him at first, but was now showing him kindness.

But then, Chu Yi's thoughts raced to another matter.

"Your teacher?!"

Yes, my teacher!

War God Xu and my grandfather, Chu Tianfeng, were fellow disciples under the same master.

And both of them are War Gods!

In other words, my grandfather's master has trained at least two War Gods!

That's quite frightening!

Though Chu Yi's current power made him indifferent to ordinary War Gods, someone capable of mentoring at least two War Gods must be a formidable being indeed!

Yes, at least!

After all, if my grandfather is Old Ninth, what about the first eight disciples?

"Don't get carried away with your thoughts. You'll meet my teacher one day."

"Also, there's something else that Old Ninth, the rascal, probably didn't tell you..."

"Your grandmother, hmm, she's your Old Ninth's wife and our fourth senior sister, also a figure of War God Level."

At this point, War God Xu's eyes brimmed with a complex emotion.

Seeing this, Chu Yi's eyes sparked with intense curiosity.

Just from War God Xu's demeanor, Chu Yi sensed there was more to the story.

However, it was clear that War God Xu wasn't about to indulge Chu Yi's curiosity with further details. He chose to keep the rest to himself.
