C33 His Parents Were Shocked

The parents exchanged a look, both reflecting a sense of disbelief in their eyes. They watched their son, Chu Yi, intently, with Chu's mother even reaching out to feel his forehead.

Chu Yi's face was lined with annoyance.

"Mom, it's perfectly normal for me not to have a fever!"

"It's just three million yuan!"

Seeing his parents about to speak, Chu Yi quickly interrupted with a slap of his hand on the table.

A metallic document landed with a smack on the surface.

"What's this?"

Chu Yi gestured with his mouth. "Take a look for yourself."

Chu's father, decisive as ever, heeded his son's suggestion and swiftly picked up the document from the table.

Then...

"This, this..."

Chu's father stared at Chu Yi, his face a mask of stupefaction. As realization dawned, he alternated between scrutinizing Chu Yi's face and the photo on the document.

Clearly, Chu's father was struggling to accept what he was seeing.

Chu's mother, sensing the oddity of the situation, quickly snatched the document from her husband's hands.

"This, this, this..."

She uttered an extra word more than Chu's father.

Like him, she repeatedly scanned back and forth between the document and their son.

Chu Yi sat there, a proud gleam in his eyes.

During his testing at the warrior center, no matter how exceptional his performance, he remained cool and detached.

But now, in the face of his parents' astonishment, Chu Yi couldn't help but feel a surge of pride.

It seemed that only in the presence of his dearest family did Chu Yi allow himself such a display.

After perusing the document, Chu's father and Chu's mother simply exchanged glances, seemingly communicating silently, which left Chu Yi scratching his head at the side.

He couldn't grasp the unspoken understanding between them, and had no idea what his parents were silently discussing.

After all, even a primordial spirit has its limits...

The silence returned, but it was short-lived this time, as Chu's father eventually broke it.

"I say, Yi..."

Chu Yi nodded, his expression earnest and sincere.

"You haven't shown this to anyone else, have you?"

Chu Yi nodded again and replied, "This is the first time I've taken it out. Aside from you two, no one else has seen it."

Well, the staff at the warrior center didn't count, since it was processed there.

Chu's father seemed hesitant, pausing several times before he finally spoke with heartfelt concern. "Yi, I understand your urgent desire to help solve the family's problems."

"But this item..."

He gestured towards the documents on the table.

"You really shouldn't mess with it..."

Chu Yi was taken aback, but he quickly caught on.

His father had mistaken his legitimate warrior certificate for a fake!

Indeed, in this world, counterfeit certificates were not uncommon.

However, there was one type of certificate that was rarely forged—not for lack of desire, but due to the scarcity of forgers brave enough to attempt it.

That certificate was the Warrior Level Certificate!

Firstly, its creation was incredibly complex, incorporating highly advanced technology from advanced civilizations.

Secondly, the practical use of these certificates was limited. Whether you were a warrior, and how powerful you were, could easily be discerned without paperwork—credentials might be falsified, but strength could not.

Most crucially, there was the stance of the federal government.

For most forgeries, the federal government would look the other way, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of daily cases to bother with such trivial matters.

But their stance on forged warrior certificates was a different story altogether.

These carried significant implications. Although easily detected, the potential damage from deception was far too great.

Moreover, the federal government itself comprised the true powerhouses who would never tolerate imposters in their ranks.

Thus, instances of warrior certificate fraud were exceedingly rare, though not entirely nonexistent.

After all, for the right price, some merchants would risk everything.

Chu Yi couldn't help but smile wryly at his father. "Dad, do you really think this is a fake?"

Chu's father remained silent, but his eyes unmistakably conveyed his conviction of the certificate's illegitimacy.

Chu Yi then turned to Chu's mother, only to find her sharing the same skeptical look, which left him feeling somewhat disheartened.

Yet, they were his parents, and Chu Yi wasn't about to show off or challenge them in any way.

"Do you really think such an authentic certificate exists?"

Upon hearing this, Chu's father picked up the document, examining it with great interest.

"Well, you're right. The craftsmanship is indeed sophisticated. The average person wouldn't be able to tell it's not genuine."

Chu Yi nodded in agreement. "Of course, it's produced by the Warrior Association. If it were easy to spot as a fake, that would be truly astonishing."

Chu's father's actions briefly stiffened, and then he turned to Chu Yi with a more serious demeanor. "Have you actually become entangled with the people from the Warrior Association?!"

This was a grave issue!

Chu's mother also seemed to grasp the gravity of the situation, growing increasingly worried.

The Warrior Association, operating independently from any other entity, had an organizational structure that was incredibly loose. Yet, the force they could mobilize was beyond imagination.

The Warrior Association wasn't just a part of the Terran Federation; it was present in all civilizations.

Alongside the Divine Psychic Association, these two entities were the colossal pillars of the entire Cosmic Civilization.

Thankfully, both associations were loosely organized and never vied for power. They were solely dedicated to reaching the pinnacle of the power system, which is why the rulers of various civilizations let them flourish.

But if someone were to conspire with members of these associations, that would spell big trouble!

Seeing the look of impending doom on his parents' faces, Chu Yi couldn't help but feel exasperated.

"Dad, Mom, do you really have so little faith in your own son?"

"Think about it for a second. Given our family's modest means, how could I possibly connect with the high ranks of the Warrior Association, let alone persuade them to take a risk and forge documents for me?"

Though his words might have seemed blunt, upon reflection, Chu's father and Chu's mother realized there was truth to them.

Given their family's standing, why would the Warrior Association's elite take a gamble for their son?

And so...

"Hmm?"

At that moment, a peculiar glint appeared in the eyes of Chu's father and Chu's mother.

After sharing a knowing look, they once again picked up the Warrior Certificate from the table.

"Tell me, dear, doesn't this certificate seem just a tad too authentic to be fake?"

Chu's mother scrutinized it for quite some time, even going so far as to power up a device and search online for methods to verify the authenticity of such documents.

Chu's father and Chu's mother were coming to a realization, albeit with some hesitation—could it be true?

"Is this really happening?" Chu's father's voice quivered, while Chu's mother fell into a deep silence.

Chu Yi was grinning, a grin filled with pride.

Naturally, he was careful not to let his parents see; he knew all too well that his father didn't need a reason to discipline a child.

Chu's father and Chu's mother turned their gaze to Chu Yi, clearly seeking confirmation from him.

By this point, they were mostly convinced of the truth of the matter.

Yet, the reality before them was utterly astonishing, completely overturning their worldview.

They had watched Chu Yi grow up, understanding him perhaps even better than he understood himself.

Their son was always under their watchful eyes, every move monitored, but Chu's father and Chu's mother couldn't fathom when he had become a Bronze level warrior.

This was a bona fide Bronze level warrior, not some street thug who fancied himself a fighter. This was a warrior certified by the Warrior Association!

For the average person, a Bronze level warrior was an incredibly formidable and respected individual. Even though they only held First Level authority, to the common folk, that was akin to being an official.

Moreover, with the warriors' formidable strength, the commoners revered them far more than any official.

This revelation was so profound that it left the elderly couple in disbelief.

Chu Yi's smile grew even more radiant.

"Of course, it's true."

"Dad, Mom, do you really have so little faith in your own son?"

Chu Yi was at a loss for words.

Were these really his parents?

After all this, could they still doubt him?

"But son, you've never been particularly adept, how could you possibly pass the warrior's examination?"

Chu Yi observed the skepticism on his father's face, his lips twitching slightly.

He pondered whether he was indeed their biological child.

But Chu's father didn't give Chu Yi much time to dwell on these thoughts. Noticing the doubtful yet hopeful looks from both his parents, Chu Yi reluctantly rose to his feet and walked over to the corner of the room. There, he picked up the dumbbell that had been lying there for many years, once used by his father for training.

Before the disbelieving gaze of his parents, he lifted the dumbbell forged from pure iron and bent it...

Yes, bent it.

It was as though the solid steel bar, one centimeter in diameter, was nothing more than a slender piece of wire.

Chu's father exchanged a look with Chu's mother, and she returned his gaze.

Faced with such an unbelievable event, they instinctively turned to each other for confirmation.

Indeed, had it been anyone else, they might have scoffed and muttered "brute" under their breath while secretly harboring envy.

But witnessing their own son, the one they feared might be disabled, the son for whom they would sacrifice everything just to ensure his survival, the impact was beyond words.

Chu Yi's demonstration, devoid of any explanation, spoke volumes more convincingly than words ever could.

Could they believe it?

Though the scene before them felt like something out of a dream, the couple, both old and young at heart, had to accept the reality.

Their son, once thought to be destined for a bleak future, the son they were prepared to support at all costs, had transformed.

He had grown taller, but most importantly, he had grown stronger!

So strong, in fact, that he was almost unrecognizable.

"Are you truly our son?"

Chu's mother approached, reaching out to gently pinch Chu Yi's cheek, then his arm, as if to verify the reality of the son before her.

Though his mother's touch was harmless, Chu Yi couldn't help but feel a bit awkward.

"Mom, it's me, Chu Yi, your son!"

"Ah..."
