C62 The Wind Rose and the Clouds Surged!

"Chu Yi, let's get one thing straight—our talents are top-notch, yours and mine alike."

"The secret realm is beneficial, sure, but it merely accelerates our cultivation."

"Even without the perks of the secret realm, we can amass endless resources elsewhere."

"So, there's no need to take unnecessary risks for the sake of the secret realm."

Risk-taking is one thing, but risking our lives? That's not worth it.

Chu Yi gave Lee Zi a gentle smile.

He understood that Lee Zi was expressing concern for him, fearing he might harbor resentment or succumb to greed, which is why she had gone on at length.

But Lee Zi had underestimated him.

For Chu Yi...

Not even the finest secret realm in this world could stir his interest.

After all, compared to the Immortal Demon Temple, any secret realm pales in significance.

"I get it..."

Seeing the clarity in Chu Yi's eyes, Lee Zi allowed herself to relax.

The mood shifted subtly between them.

Just then, footsteps approached the door.

Without a second thought, Chu Yi and Lee Zi slipped back into their medical pods.

The door swung open a moment later.

Teacher Cang gazed at Chu Yi and Lee Zi inside their pods and let out a sigh of resignation.

He had harbored resentment toward Chu Yi, but that was before he watched the footage Zhao Jun had sent. Now, Teacher Cang had come to realize just how formidable Chu Yi was.

Indeed, Chu Yi wasn't quite on Lee Zi's level yet, especially in terms of gene awakening—Chu Yi was significantly behind.

But who's to say Chu Yi won't awaken his genetic power someday?

As a mid-level official in the Ministry of Education, Teacher Cang was well aware that a prodigy like Chu Yi, once aligned with a faction, would receive their full support to unlock his genetic power.

Moreover, even if Chu Yi never awakened his genetic power, his demonstrated abilities...

Teacher Cang was convinced that Chu Yi would surpass him in the future, and even now, the higher-ups at the Ministry of Education would likely agree.

While Teacher Cang still harbored some resentment for Chu Yi's previous recklessness, he wouldn't let it show.

"Lee Zi, Chu Yi, are you feeling any better?"

Both of them held Teacher Cang in high regard.

Nodding in agreement, Chu Yi spoke calmly, "I'm recovering a bit faster. I should be fully recovered in about three days."

Teacher Cang was already aware of this.

"However, Lee Zi might need to wait another five or six days before he stands a chance."

As the overseer of the entire camp, Teacher Cang was well-informed about these matters. Still, he felt it was important to listen attentively to Chu Yi.

"Let's leave it at that."

"You have two more days to recuperate."

"In two days, we'll be departing..."

Both Chu Yi and Lee Zi were taken aback, exchanging surprised glances with Teacher Cang.

This time, Teacher Cang didn't withhold any information.

"You must have noticed something over the past few days, with the constant appearance of Demonic Beasts. It's quite peculiar."

"Moreover, last night there was a terrifying occurrence. Although it caused no harm, the mere presence of such an event indicates a problem."

The anomaly last night had been drawn by Chu Yi, but naturally, neither Chu Yi nor Lee Zi would admit to this.

"Furthermore, I'll be frank with you, we've slain three great Demonic Beasts in the last two days..."

While Chu Yi and Lee Zi might have remained unmoved by his earlier remarks, Teacher Cang's final statement sent a chill down their spines.

Three great Demonic Beasts!

Including the one from the first day, that made four great Demonic Beasts!

That was rather astonishing!

The former ruler of this region was the great Roc Demonic Beast they had slain on the first day.

Typically, if an elite or Spiritual level Demonic Beast in an area were to fall, it would be at least a year or two before any new Demonic Beasts of the same caliber would appear.

But for a great Demonic Beast...

It would take at least three to five years for another to invade!

"Additionally, our scouting has revealed that the number of Bronze and Silver Level Demonic Beasts nearby far exceeds what one would expect for this area."

"There's definitely some treasure here, something irresistibly alluring to those Demonic Beasts."

"Regrettably, we lack the strength to confront it."

"So, after deliberating last night, we've decided to officially withdraw in two days."

Evacuating two days later was a reluctant choice they had to make. If it were up to Teacher Cang, he would prefer to leave immediately.

Despite knowing treasures lay hidden here, their desire to possess them was strong!

This had been the case for the past few days. The mentors had been aware of the situation but opted to keep it secret, hoping for the treasures that might be found.

However, the recent emergence of several Greater Demons forced them to confront the reality of the danger.

In just a short span of days, three Greater Demons had appeared. If more time passed, who knew how many would gather?

It wouldn't take much—just one Diamond Level Demonic Beast could easily obliterate them.

Treasures, no matter how valuable, are worthless without life to claim them.

So, in the end, they made their decision.

Of course, it was greed that delayed them. If not for their avarice, they wouldn't have waited another two days.

It was their reluctance to leave and the hope of assessing the situation further that led to the two-day delay.

Teacher Cang's visit wasn't to seek their input but to notify them of the decision.

After Teacher Cang departed, Chu Yi and Lee Zi stepped out of the medical pods, exchanging knowing glances and a simultaneous smile.

There was no point in worrying now.

Chu Yi felt relieved that the school had made a decision, sparing them from further speculation.

Still, missing the chance to explore the secret realm was a slight disappointment—it could have been a significant time-saver.

But it was time to let go of those thoughts.

The day passed peacefully.

Unbeknownst to Chu Yi, from that day on, the students no longer ventured out for training but remained within the safety of the camp.

Students admitted to Seventeenth High School were no fools. They pursued the martial path, but the school wouldn't have accepted them if they lacked judgment.

These students certainly had the capacity to discern the odd atmosphere enveloping the camp and the ominous changes outside.

The starlit night, coupled with the frequent sightings of terrifying Demonic Beasts, alerted the students that this training might not go as planned.

Unlike the teachers and Chu Yi and Lee Zi, these students were utterly disinterested in any potential treasures that might be hidden here. Their abilities and other factors considered, even if a secret treasure landed right before them, it wouldn't be theirs to claim. What the students desired was safety; as long as they could return home unharmed, nothing else mattered.

Thus, these students were exceptionally well-behaved, having been well-informed about the perils of such expeditions from the internet. The day passed without incident, and it seemed as though the two days might unfold in quiet. However, the first night brought an unexpected turn of events.

Chu Yi and Lee Zi watched the immense Demonic Beast on the screen, exchanging a look that conveyed their mutual concern. "It appears to be a Great Demon," Chu Yi observed.

Lee Zi nodded in agreement, "Yes, a particularly powerful Great Demon at that."

Chu Yi had a clearer sense of the beast than Lee Zi, who could only observe the scene through the medical cabin's screen. Chu Yi's perception now extended to a 400-meter radius, and within this range, nothing could elude his detection unless it was more powerful than him. It was under this heightened awareness that he witnessed the horrifying sight.

A colossal bull-headed Giant Demon towered between heaven and earth, standing well over a hundred meters tall. Though smaller than the fearsome python Demonic Beast from the Apocalypse, its sheer size still packed an overwhelming punch. Even more daunting was the terrifying aura emanating from the Giant Demon's form—a true Giant Demon, and no ordinary one at that.

Chu Yi couldn't help but feel daunted by its imposing stature. The creature looked incredibly tough, a challenging adversary by any measure. "What do you think, can we take it down together?" he asked, turning to Lee Zi, who seemed eager to engage.

After a brief contemplation, Lee Zi reluctantly shook her head. "Even though I'm not certain of your full capabilities, I suspect we're still outmatched."

Lee Zi's gaze remained fixed on the Giant Demon in the screen, "Our foe is likely a high-ranking Giant Demon, possibly at the quasi-commander level."

A quasi-commander level Giant Demon...

This was tantamount to a quasi-Diamond Level Great General among humans, just one step shy of a true Diamond Level Great General.

Indeed, this creature was beyond their capacity to handle.

"However, once we reach the Silver Peak, we might stand a chance if we join forces."

Lee Zi and Chu Yi were both at the Elementary Silver Level, and the gap between Elementary and Peak was vast and immeasurable.

Attaining Silver Peak would mean they might have a shot at taking it on together...

"Alright, let's not dwell on this anymore..."

"What we need to focus on now is how to safely evacuate from here!"

Chu Yi gave it some thought and realized that was indeed the case.

They hadn't paid much attention to the bull-headed Giant Demon outside.

Without reaching Diamond status, it really wasn't a significant threat.

As expected, it didn't take long for the bull-headed Giant Demon, which had been strutting about as if it could bulldoze through anything, to fall amidst a dazzling display of light.

While the forces from their school might have struggled against the bull-headed Giant Demon, the formidable equipment they had brought along made dealing with it a manageable task.

Nonetheless, the night was bound to be restless.

Following the bull-headed Giant Demon, two more Giant Demons emerged throughout the night.

In the end, all were decisively vanquished by the powerhouses at their camp, and the latter two didn't even measure up to the bull-headed Giant Demon, being merely on par with ordinary Gold Generals.

Chu Yi was confident in his ability to single-handedly exterminate such a Giant Demon.

Despite the defeat of the formidable enemies, the emergence of three Giant Demons in one night made it clear to everyone that there was definitely a problem.
