C64 The Only Truth!

Following Zhao Jun, Chu Yi and Lee Zi once again climbed aboard his flying car.

As a General, Zhao Jun's flying car was impressively advanced.

Being a government official, he had accumulated considerable resources over the years, which meant his flying car was far superior to those of other Generals.

Traveling in this flying car, they could potentially return to Redmarsh in just a few hours at full speed.

Its onboard defensive system was robust enough to withstand attacks from ordinary Giant Demons and even some of the more common ones.

However, these were just ideal circumstances.

Take the present situation, for instance...

Zhao Jun's complexion turned a ghastly pale as he faced the formidable Great Demon before him.

It was another avian beast, bearing a striking resemblance to the one they had slain upon their arrival.

Yet, there was a difference, and it was stark—the Great Demon before them was far more powerful!

Quite simply, when this avian beast spread its wings, they spanned at least four hundred meters...

Four hundred meters...

That was nearly on par with the crocodile Giant Demon back at the camp.

The speed of a flying Demonic Beast was already incredibly fast, and now they were up against a fearsome Great Demon.

The outcome was, sadly, a foregone conclusion.

"Prepare to abandon the car."

Zhao Jun was resolute. Confronted with his prized vehicle, he made a swift decision about their next move.

Chu Yi and Lee Zi exchanged a look of resignation.

Their luck couldn't get any worse.

They had barely escaped the Giant Demonic Alligator when they stumbled upon another terrifying Demonic Beast of a similar caliber.

It seemed their misfortune knew no bounds.

Yet, Chu Yi and Lee Zi didn't waver. The flying car, likely valued at over a hundred million, wasn't theirs to mourn.

Zhao Jun gazed at the fearsome avian beast in the sky, a glint of malice in his eyes.

With the press of a button, Chu Yi and Lee Zi were abruptly ejected.

Moments later, Zhao Jun appeared behind them, just as the flying car collided with the avian beast above.

Though the flying car was sizable, it was practically insignificant next to the beast with a four-hundred-meter wingspan.

However, the seemingly insignificant flying car erupted into a dazzling blaze of light in an instant!

Boom!

A horrifying explosion erupted, sending shockwaves rippling through the air.

Chu Yi and Lee Zi's expressions shifted subtly.

Suspended in the sky, they were sitting ducks without the ability to fly.

Buffeted by the fearsome airwave, Chu Yi and Lee Zi's bodies began to shake uncontrollably.

The impact was so severe that Lee Zi's parachute could no longer deploy fully, and she started to plummet rapidly.

At this altitude, well over a thousand meters above the ground, a fall could be catastrophic. Even with Lee Zi's Silver status and strength on par with Gold, she was in grave danger.

Severe injury was a certainty, and her life was at risk.

"Watch out, Lee Zi!"

Using the force of the impact, Chu Yi quickly reached Lee Zi's side.

In this dire situation, Chu Yi didn't hesitate to reveal his powers, using his soul force to draw himself and Lee Zi together.

The parachutes were designed for single users, and now, burdened with Lee Zi's weight, the parachute was overwhelmed. Coupled with the earlier shockwave, Chu Yi in mid-air began to wobble precariously.

But Chu Yi was undeterred.

Had Zhao Jun not been present, Chu Yi might have already resorted to his ability to fly.

It wasn't exactly flying, more like a desperate hover.

Yet even that would have been astonishing enough, so Chu Yi refrained from using such a tactic.

In that moment, an immense surge of soul force enveloped Chu Yi and Lee Zi, entwining around them. Once enveloped, they plummeted toward the dense forest below.

Pfft, pfft, pfft!

The soul force created sparks as it rubbed against the air.

Now, Chu Yi and Lee Zi's descent accelerated, the pair resembling a meteor as they blazed through the sky.

Had the Giant Demon not been severely wounded, their chances of a safe landing would have been slim.

When they were mere three to four hundred meters from the ground, Chu Yi's parachute finally succumbed to their combined weight and disintegrated completely.

At that moment, their descent reached its peak velocity.

Thunderous rumbles echoed as clouds of dust billowed through the forest. Several massive trees, each requiring three or four people to encircle, were utterly destroyed. Chu Yi and Lee Zi struggled to climb out of the deep crater they had landed in.

Though they hadn't sustained severe injuries, the harrowing impact of their fall from such a height had certainly taken a toll on their bodies.

"We are so unlucky..."

Chu Yi massaged his sore limbs, casting a sympathetic glance at Lee Zi, who looked equally disheveled.

Lee Zi felt a sense of resignation.

Neither of them had anticipated that a simple trial would spiral into such chaos.

"What's our next move?"

They weren't overly concerned about their tumble into the forest.

After all, they were no longer the same as before; with their current capabilities, escaping should pose no significant challenge.

Moreover, once they were out of this region, their communication devices would be operational again.

"We should get out of this mess first," Chu Yi suggested, his gaze fixed on the Giant Demon in the sky, which, despite its injuries, refused to leave. His expression grew solemn.

"It looks like the secret realm is about to emerge."

"Otherwise, these Demonic Beasts wouldn't be acting so wildly."

Over the last couple of days, the Demonic Beasts had become increasingly frenzied, leading Chu Yi to surmise that the secret realm's appearance was imminent.

"Good thing we decided to back off."

Hearing Chu Yi's assessment, Lee Zi nodded in agreement.

Indeed, they were fortunate they had chosen not to stay. Otherwise...

The sheer number of Giant Demons was enough for them to predict the upcoming opening of the secret realm would be nothing short of astonishing.

"I fear even the Demon King might make an appearance..."

The mere mention of the Demon King weighed heavily on both Chu Yi and Lee Zi.

Facing ordinary Giant Demons was one thing; they could manage to escape unless pursued by the most formidable among them. But a Demon King...

Chu Yi's mind flashed back to the apocalyptic scene where War God Luo single-handedly crushed a fearsome Demonic Beast Python. Against such power, they stood no chance.

"Once we're out of this area, we'll immediately activate the special communicator and signal for rescue!"

The pair had resolved that the moment they got a signal, they would call for rescue without delay.

As for the secret realm...

Well, that was for the human federal government to ponder.

"Hmm?"

"Teacher Zhao, what are you up to?"

Chu Yi's opinion of Teacher Zhao had soured, but since Teacher Zhao had attempted to involve both Lee Zi and him in the end, Chu Yi felt it was only right to afford him some respect.

At that time, Chu Yi and Lee Zi were still grappling with lingering aches and pains, supporting each other as they moved forward.

But after traveling just a few hundred meters, they came upon Teacher Zhao in a clearing, busily tinkering with something.

Neither Chu Yi nor Lee Zi were concerned for Teacher Zhao's safety.

After all, he was a Gold Level General. If he could be easily dispatched, he wouldn't have made it this far.

Those who had risen to the rank of General, especially those without any significant background, had typically forged their path through life-and-death experiences.

Zhao Jun appeared not to hear Chu Yi's query, engrossed in his task.

Then, suddenly, he stood up, a pleased smile spreading across his face.

"Done."

He turned to face Lee Zi and Chu Yi.

"Look, this angle should work, right?"

Only then did Chu Yi see what Zhao Jun was fiddling with.

"A recording device?"

Chu Yi was baffled.

Why wasn't he focusing on escaping instead of fiddling with a recording device?

Had Teacher Zhao lost his mind?

"From this angle, I should be able to capture everything."

Chu Yi surveyed his surroundings, sensing that something was off.

"Capture what?"

Zhao Jun's smile twisted into something more sinister as he looked at Chu Yi and Lee Zi.

"Of course, the footage of me killing the two of you..."

Chu Yi and Lee Zi tensed.

"Teacher Zhao, what are you saying?"

Chu Yi's lips twitched slightly, his eyes sharpening with wariness.

Zhao Jun seemed unfazed.

"I told you, I'm going to record the scene of your deaths."

With that, Zhao Jun pointed at himself, "It's me—"

Then he gestured towards Chu Yi and Lee Zi, "—killing you two."

Although Chu Yi didn't know the specifics, he sensed that something was amiss. Lee Zi, whom he was assisting, gave a slight shudder and stood steadfastly by his side. Chu Yi gathered his focus, readying himself for what was to come.

"Why?" Chu Yi was certain Zhao Jun wasn't making a joke.

"You're asking me why?" Zhao Jun seemed amused by the question.

"Obviously, it's for the reward!" Chu Yi's pupils narrowed in response.

A reward? For killing them?

As Chu Yi grappled with confusion, Lee Zi's voice emerged, "You're the one who knows the ultimate truth, aren't you?"

The ultimate truth? Chu Yi paused, a realization dawning on him. He recalled some reports he had seen online. The "ultimate truth" appeared to be a notorious cult within the Human Federation—a particularly bizarre one. While other cults exploited chaos to promote their ideologies, the ultimate truth targeted a different audience. They were fixated on the human race's geniuses and strongmen, and apart from eliminating these individuals, the ultimate truth had never harmed or misled the common folk.

It never crossed Chu Yi's mind that Teacher Zhao could be affiliated with the ultimate truth.
