C70 A Plan

"Chu Yi..."

Upon hearing Lee Zi's voice quiver, Chu Yi managed to muster a smile.

"Don't worry, Lee Zi. I won't leave you a widow..."

A widow?

Lee Zi paused, her cheeks turning a shade of crimson, a mix of embarrassment and annoyance written across her face.

Yet, as she took in Chu Yi's condition, her concern quickly resurfaced.

"Your body..."

Chu Yi gestured dismissively.

"It's nothing serious, just some superficial wounds. I'll be back on my feet soon enough."

While speaking, Chu Yi snapped his fingers, and a green glow emanated from the surrounding trees, converging towards him.

The instant the dark green light merged with Chu Yi's body, his bleeding miraculously ceased.

Lee Zi watched in astonishment as the gashes that had marred his skin began to close rapidly, healing before her eyes.

"What is this...?"

Chu Yi grinned at Lee Zi's stunned expression.

It was merely a simple technique of the immortal arts, the Spring of the Dead.

This technique, however, was quite taxing on one's spirit energy and required the life force from plants as a supplement.

For an ordinary person, replicating Chu Yi's feat would be unthinkable, given the immense drain on spirit energy from using the immortal arts. But Chu Yi was no ordinary individual—his spirit energy was extraordinarily potent, rendering such consumption trivial.

Hence, he had no concerns about depleting his reserves.

This was precisely why Chu Yi could keep himself alive, even with severe injuries.

After employing the Spring of the Dead once, Chu Yi refrained from further use.

Nowadays, one must consider resistance, and the immortal arts were not exempt from this principle. Continuous use would significantly diminish their effectiveness.

Of course, Chu Yi wouldn't mind if it were just a matter of reduced efficacy. What truly mattered to him was that using this power sparingly was lifesaving, whereas excessive use could be tantamount to suicide.

Therefore, Chu Yi held back from further use.

He needed to give his body time to adjust.

"Chu Yi, what do we do now?"

Lee Zi was usually decisive, but the recent events had left her feeling unsettled.

Besides, despite her exceptional talents, Lee Zi was still just an eighteen-year-old girl.

Confronted with this situation, she genuinely lacked a solution, as this was all new territory for her.

Certainly, having Chu Yi by her side was now the most crucial support.

After pondering for a moment, Chu Yi spoke, "Given our current state, it's best we stay put and wait for rescue."

Indeed, while Chu Yi could occasionally bolster himself with various immortal arts, a full recovery to his peak condition was out of the question.

Lee Zi, too, was significantly wounded. Dispatching a few Silver Level Demonic Beasts might be manageable, but facing a formidable Demonic Beast would spell certain doom.

Since their flying car had been assaulted by a powerful Demonic Beast, Chu Yi realized escaping this signal-blocking zone would be a formidable challenge.

The wisest course of action was to stay put and await rescue. If Zhao Jun hadn't said what he did, perhaps Chu Yi might have chosen differently. Who could predict when, or even if, help would arrive?

But Chu Yi was now certain that within a matter of minutes, a high-ranking official from the Inspection Department would emerge from Redmarsh, and their arrival here wouldn't be long in coming. Even accounting for unforeseen events, the wait for rescue shouldn't be excessively long.

Thus, settling in to wait seemed the best option.

Without hesitation, Lee Zi nodded in agreement. Her trust in Chu Yi was unwavering.

"Alright, let's find a place to take cover," Chu Yi suggested.

As they spoke, Chu Yi lifted Lee Zi in his arms before he could muster any strength. The sensation was comforting, yet Chu Yi couldn't help but feel a twinge of embarrassment. Such a princess carry, if witnessed, could be quite compromising to his dignity.

Nevertheless, Chu Yi's face betrayed his contentment.

Lee Zi looked somewhat perturbed, but with Chu Yi in his injured state, she was left with little choice. She carried him to the base of a tree, as he had requested.

Suddenly, Chu Yi grasped Lee Zi's hand. She looked at him with a faint blush, clueless about his intentions.

Seeing her reaction, Chu Yi let out a sly chuckle. "What's on your mind?"

Frustrated yet powerless, Lee Zi could only express her impatience. "Chu Yi, I'll be here waiting for you to heal."

Chu Yi instinctively recoiled as Lee Zi gritted her teeth in frustration, yet he didn't release her hand.

Then, his primordial spirit power surged once again.

In a flash, both Lee Zi and Chu Yi found themselves shrouded in a misty veil of light.

Lee Zi gazed around with curiosity. Though she remained herself, she couldn't shake off the peculiar sensation of being one with her environment.

"This is a concealment technique. My level may be low, but it's enough to hide us from these foolish Demonic Beasts."

The concealment technique was a common practice in the Immortal Demon World, not quite qualifying as an immortal art.

Nevertheless, it was universally recognized for its utility.

"As long as we're not caught in the crossfire, even the most powerful demons won't detect us standing right beside them."

The technique's primary function was to contain one's aura, but with Chu Yi's additional disguise, its significance was transformed.

Lee Zi gave Chu Yi a quizzical look, prompting him to offer an explanation.

"Ah, these immortal arts are all within my grasp, but I can't divulge their exact origins."

"However, there's one thing I can assure you of..."

Chu Yi's gaze met Lee Zi's with earnest intensity. "I am Chu Yi, and I will always be Chu Yi."

Under the weight of his intense stare, Lee Zi soon averted her eyes.

Indeed, in a normal state, Lee Zi's strength, once her genetic power was unleashed, would likely overpower three Chu Yis. But when it came to sheer audacity, not even ten Lee Zis could match him. Such was Chu Yi's confidence.

"I meant to say, my dear—"

Catching the lethal look in Lee Zi's eyes, Chu Yi realized that endearment would have to wait.

"Lee Zi, my power is referred to as the power of the primordial spirit..."

The power of the primordial spirit?

Lee Zi paused, puzzled. "Is it the same power of the primordial spirit that sages possess?"

Sages?

Now it was Chu Yi's turn to be taken aback.

And so, it was time for Teacher Lee Zi to enlighten him.

A sage was part of a hierarchy within the Divine Psychics.

The Divine Psychics didn't have an extensive array of ranks – just Elementary, Intermediate, High Order, and Perfection Divine Psychics, which were analogous to the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond levels of the Warrior system.

The title of Sage is bestowed upon those who have surpassed the state of Perfection as a Divine Psychic, placing them on par with beings of the War God Level.

"A Divine Psychic harnesses psychic force, which is essentially mental strength, whereas a Sage is a unique being capable of condensing their primordial spirit," Lee Zi explained.

"However, I've heard that even the primordial spirits of Sages have attributes!" she added.

Indeed, Divine Psychics share similarities with warriors. Warriors awaken and mobilize powers based on the genetic force within their bodies, while Divine Psychics draw upon their potent psychic force to control these powers. Both types of powers are categorized by attributes.

But Chu Yi is an exception.

Lee Zi witnessed firsthand that Chu Yi could not only summon a staggering array of attribute powers but also effortlessly control various types of these powers.

What's more, the inherent combat strength of a Divine Psychic is significantly weaker, nowhere near that of a warrior. The damage their primordial spirit can inflict is negligible, especially when compared to Chu Yi's formidable display.

If it weren't for this disparity, Zhao Jun would have recognized him immediately.

"How can I explain this..." Chu Yi pondered, struggling to articulate the concept to Lee Zi.

Indeed, primordial spirits possess attributes. This concept holds true even in the Immortal Demon World.

However, there are beings whose primordial spirits are so defiantly powerful that they transcend the need for attribute-based combat. Instead, they wield the sheer might of their primordial spirits in battle!

The prodigies of the immortal path must align with the Great Dao, drawing upon its power. Since their attributes vary, the aspects of the Great Dao they can connect with differ, leading to a diversity of borrowed powers.

Yet, there are those whose primordial spirits are so transcendent that they dominate the Great Dao itself, enslaving its power as needed.

That's the gist of it.

Nonetheless, these concepts are too complex to convey to Lee Zi.

"Just imagine my primordial spirit as being extraordinarily defiant, possessing all attributes," Chu Yi suggested.

After pondering for a moment, Lee Zi concluded that this might indeed be the situation.

Chu Yi's remarks appeared to be spot on.

Suddenly, a thought struck Lee Zi. "Does that mean you're actually a Divine Psychic?"

Chu Yi seemed to grasp what Lee Zi was getting at.

Without a clear identity, it would be all too easy to run into trouble.

Yet, categorizing Chu Yi as a Divine Psychic didn't seem to pose any issues!

At most, it would mean that Chu Yi, as a Divine Psychic, had cultivated his soul to the level of a Yuan Shen, which was quite extraordinary.

But a Divine Psychic...

That made perfect sense!

"Yeah, from now on, I'll be known as a Divine Psychic!"

With this new title, even if his Yuan Shen power were to emerge unexpectedly, he would have an explanation at the ready.

Seeing Lee Zi's smile, Chu Yi couldn't help but offer a heartfelt compliment, "You're really clever, Lee Zi..."

Once again, Lee Zi blushed.

Chu Yi had noticed that Lee Zi often blushed, especially in his presence.

"Get out of here, who's part of your family?"

Chu Yi just stood there, grinning sheepishly.

For a brief moment, there was a subtle air of romance between them.

This interlude, however, was short-lived, as Chu Yi's expression soon shifted.

"Someone is approaching!"
