C97 The Human Genius Selection Tournament!!

Chu Yi was the linchpin of everything.

Chu Yun knew this well as he watched Chu Yi's beaming smile and lapsed into silence.

"How did it go this time? Was it tough?"

Lee Zi nodded, then shook her head.

The earlier battles were a breeze because for Lee Zi, they were nothing but overwhelming victories.

Of course, if it were the old Lee Zi, even those initial battles would have been challenging.

But now, after her transformation, she found them effortlessly easy.

However, later on, when facing those ultimate adversaries, Lee Zi found herself at a disadvantage.

Her once-prized experience was laughable against the seasoned competitors of the arena.

Without her body's extraordinary power, she wouldn't have made it as far as she did.

This experience was unlike any other.

Facing and effortlessly sweeping aside even more formidable opponents was something she could never have imagined before.

And all of this was possible thanks to Chu Yi's assistance.

Lee Zi was aware that despite her transformation, the true powerhouse was still Chu Yi.

After all, he was the mastermind behind it all.

"By the way, Lee Zi, what's your combat rating?"

Chu Yun, who had been watching Chu Yi and Lee Zi with affection, couldn't help but ask.

"It's Six-star..."

"Oh, a Six-star— What?!"

Chu Yun was dumbfounded.

As someone who had taken the test multiple times, he knew full well what Six-star signified!

How could it be Six-star?

Even with a record as frightening as one hour, it shouldn't qualify for Six-star!

After all...

Chu Yun was aware that prodigies from Fifth Level civilizations could achieve such feats in two or three hours, not just one.

But their combat ratings would never reach Six-star!

Chu Yun had once believed that it was improbable for anyone on Earth to have a Three-star rating.

Two-star seemed to be the absolute ceiling!

Indeed, in Chu Yun's view, Two-star was the peak for a Second Level Civilization like Earth.

Just like him, Chu Yun, who had trained for many years and made numerous attempts, had only managed to attain One-star with great difficulty!

Chu Yun remained skeptical about Lee Zi's Six-star status. The Six-star was indicative of the level only reachable by Invincible Geniuses from a Sixth Level civilization after awakening their battle bodies. While Chu Yi had acknowledged the strength of Lee Zi's battle body, Chu Yun was unconvinced. The universe was teeming with battle bodies; how many could Chu Yi and Lee Zi have possibly encountered? They felt theirs were strong simply because they hadn't seen what else was out there. But now, with the Six-star rating on the line, things seemed different.

Lee Zi, seemingly indifferent to these concerns, caught Chu Yun's doubtful gaze. "Chu Yi, I've got it..." she said quietly to the distracted Chu Yun. Chu Yi, taken aback, asked, "Got what?" With a secretive smile, Lee Zi replied, "You'll find out when you go in..."

Chu Yi held his tongue, aware that Lee Zi was being cautious around Chu Yun. Despite Chu Yun's friendly demeanor and willingness to share secrets, Lee Zi's wariness had not faded. In fact, she seemed to trust no one but Chu Yi. Reflecting on this, Chu Yi realized something. Chu Yun had described the test instrument as both an invitation and a ticket to entry, but the specifics remained a mystery. Now that Lee Zi claimed to have obtained it, it was time for Chu Yi to see for himself.

"Alright, now it's my turn to take the test," Chu Yi declared, his curiosity about the test instrument piqued. Chu Yun, who had been lost in self-doubt, snapped back to reality at his words.

Truthfully, Chu Yun was pleased by Lee Zi's formidable power, but he couldn't shake his concerns. The human heart is unpredictable, and with Lee Zi's evident talent, could she withstand the lure of other civilizations if they became aware of her? Moreover, if Lee Zi's power continued to grow, would she remain loyal to the Chu family?

These thoughts were a mix of joy and worry. However, such concerns seemed irrelevant when it came to Chu Yi. Should Chu Yi ever join another civilization, the Chu family wouldn't grieve; they would rejoice, knowing that no matter what, Chu Yi would always be one of their own. Now, it was finally Chu Yi's turn to undergo the test.

Chu Yun was eager to see just how far Chu Yi had progressed.

"Go ahead!"

Watching the eager expressions on Lee Zi and Chu Yun's faces, Chu Yi gave a serene smile and reclined in the test instrument.

In a flash, myriad beams of light emerged and began to interface with Chu Yi.

"Lee Zi, how long do you think Chu Yi can hold out, and what level might he achieve?"

Chu Yun couldn't shake a slight unease.

Before, Chu Yun had been quite content with the thought of Chu Yi lasting five minutes.

However, after Lee Zi's one-hour plus Six-star assessment, Chu Yun's expectations for Chu Yi had soared.

After a brief silence, Lee Zi spoke with unwavering confidence, "He will surely surpass me!"

At those words, Chu Yun was visibly shaken, his gaze filled with boundless hope as he looked toward Chu Yi...

...

Chu Yi found himself in a vast, grey world, standing in the void beneath an endless starry sky.

A voice began to echo.

"First battle of the Human Race Elite Selection Preliminaries, contestant Chu Yi, are you ready?"

Chu Yi, unfazed, exhaled softly.

"I'm ready."

As the voice faded, a holographic image materialized in the void.

Almost immediately, the image took on physical form.

Before him stood a Demonic Beast, not particularly large but exuding a fearsome majesty.

It had two arms and two legs, with a long tail trailing behind.

Its most striking feature was the pair of formidable fangs on its menacing face.

"Since this is Chu Yi's first participation, with no battle record, he must undergo an assessment."

"The first assessment battle is at the One-star level, with a ten-minute time limit."

"Battle, begin..."

As the command was issued, the Demonic Beast lunged toward Chu Yi.

Its bulky frame suggested a lack of agility, yet its speed was deceptively fast, closing the distance to Chu Yi in the blink of an eye.

Impressive!

Though not the pinnacle of power, this humanoid Demonic Beast was undeniably strong, especially compared to ordinary prodigies or Demonic Beasts.

Chu Yi sensed that even though the creature was of equal rank, its strength could certainly rival that of geniuses at the Silver Peak.

Chu Yi had reached the intermediate stage of Silver.

And to be at the Silver Peak was akin to leaping over two minor levels.

It was important to note that the opponent had revealed their aura!

A Demonic Beast's inherent strength was already stronger than that of a human at the same level. Thus, a Silver Peak Demonic Beast wouldn't be much weaker than an ordinary Terran Human Race General who had just entered the Gold rank.

"Interesting..."

"This is truly fascinating!"

Chu Yi was eager for the battle ahead, having encountered such a formidable opponent right from the start.

He had heard clearly; this wasn't even the preliminary selection battle but merely a test!

These adversaries were here solely to determine his eligibility for the subsequent fights.

So, logically, these should be the weakest of the opponents!

Indeed, compared to the current Terran Human Race, the humanoid Demonic Beast was somewhat terrifying.

Within the same rank, it was likely that no one except Lee Zi could match it.

And even Lee Zi would have to unleash her dual genetic powers to stand a chance against it.

However, the humanoid Demonic Beast was now up against Chu Yi, an unfathomably fearsome being...

Here, Chu Yi didn’t need to be cautious about anything.

In such a place, he could fully unleash his power!

So, when the humanoid Demonic Beast stood before Chu Yi, he simply raised his arm.

Like a sorcerer, he gently pointed at the approaching figure.

Suddenly, countless waves emerged around him.

A myriad of dazzling colors burst forth like magic.

And in a moment, they vanished...

Simple?

Exceedingly so.

It was beyond the mere definition of simplicity.

But was everything truly that straightforward?

If an Invincible Genius from Earth were to arrive here, the outcome might be...

No, the outcome would certainly be different.

It appeared as though Chu Yi had done nothing, yet in truth, he had done more than anyone could imagine...

"It seems I have indeed regained a portion of my supreme power," Chu Yi said, his eyes alight with excitement.

Supreme power was distinct from mere power.

Power was the expression of an entity's terrifying will and immense destructive force.

Supreme power, on the other hand, was an enigmatic force.

Once the soul's power reached a certain threshold, it would manifest a unique entity known as supreme power.

It was power, yet it transcended power.

Supreme power could be considered a form of strength, as it fundamentally enhances both offensive and defensive capabilities. The more formidable the supreme power, the more drastic the improvement it yields.

However, it's not a form of strength in the conventional sense...

Indeed, it's not a type of power that can be developed through training. Supreme power is something that only a select few top-tier warriors can grasp under unique circumstances.

Possessing supreme power is a sure sign of an expert, yet not all experts possess this extraordinary ability.

It's an incredibly enigmatic phenomenon.

Of course, when Chu Yi's primordial spirit was at its zenith, it naturally manifested this supreme power. Regrettably, upon his return, his primordial spirit suffered extensive damage. This not only restricted Chu Yi's ability to wield his primordial spirit's power but also rendered many of his abilities unusable.

Supreme power was among those lost capabilities.
