C104 It Attracted the Monsters!

A herd of about thirty raging bulls roamed together, among them a formidable Third Rank Boss level beast. The rest varied from mid to elite Third Rank, with a few low-grade Third Rank demonic beast calves among them. The elite level raging bulls boasted an astonishing 60,000 health points!

Even the high-grade ones had a hefty 50,000 health points!

To Ning Qi, these were the most robust creatures he had encountered among Third Rank demonic beasts. Purple, a Fifth Rank Mid-grade Demon Beast, only had 35,000 health points, nearly half that of an elite raging bull!

Their thick green hide was a clear indicator of their formidable defense, a challenge even for an ordinary Battle Spirit to contend with.

The canyon was teeming with hundreds, if not thousands, of raging bulls, with at least thirty Third Rank Boss level among them!

The king of the raging bulls, reigning from the highest point of Raging Bull Canyon, was a Fourth Rank Boss level Demonic Beast with an impressive 300,000 health points. Its dominance was unquestionable, for without such strength, it could never keep these ill-tempered beasts in check.

At that moment, a Third Rank elite raging bull, grazing leisurely, meandered close to Ning Qi. With a flick of his wrist, Ning Qi tossed a pebble at it.

The stone struck squarely on the bull's forehead. Startled from its grazing, the bull jerked its head up, snorting white steam from its nostrils, its eyes—a fiery red—scanning its surroundings.

It didn't take long for the bull to spot Ning Qi, who taunted it with a defiant middle finger. The beast bellowed angrily, kicking up clouds of dust as it charged toward him.

This secluded part of Raging Bull Canyon meant that even if a few other bulls noticed the commotion, they'd remain indifferent, preoccupied with their own affairs.

Rounding a corner, the raging bull finally got a full view of Ning Qi. It launched into a furious charge, accelerating to several times its initial speed, barreling toward Ning Qi like a missile locked on target.

"Bring it on!"

Ning Qi stood his ground as the raging bull charged at him, eager to test his strength against the beast's formidable power.

"Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms!"

He unleashed the supremely forceful palm technique, a perfect match for the raging bull renowned for its brute strength.

The bull, momentarily disoriented, shook its head while Ning Qi was propelled backward by its massive force, crashing into a small tree. He clambered to his feet, battered and bruised, his arms throbbing with pain.

His strike had depleted over 3,000 points of the raging bull's health. Yet, to slay it, he would need at least twenty more such blows. If his goal weren't leveling up but rather to hone his mastery of the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms, the raging bull would be an excellent sparring partner.

Dazed by Ning Qi's hit, the bull shook off its confusion and refocused on him. With a powerful thrust of its hind legs, it launched another ferocious charge.

But this time, it had made a grave error.

Ning Qi's hand now wielded the Dragon Slaying Blade. With a swift sidestep, he gripped the saber tightly and brought it down in a swift, decisive arc. The bull's massive head flew off, thudding onto the ground, while the headless body stumbled forward before collapsing, its blood seeping into the earth, a pungent scent of iron filling the air.

Despite the raging bull's high HP, such lethal moves prompted the system to register the damage as a critical hit, with the critical strike wiping out the bull's remaining life force in one fell swoop.

"Congratulations, you have successfully slain a Third Rank elite raging bull and earned 12,000 experience points!"

Ning Qi recalled that when he had defeated a Third Rank Mid-grade Demon Beast, the Frost Tiger, the system had awarded him 8,000 experience points. But considering the HP disparity between the Demon Tiger and the raging bull, the system's reward seemed paltry in comparison.

Were it not for the Dragon Slaying Saber at his side, he might have turned and walked away from such a miserly system long ago.

Ning Qi returned to the same spot, poised for the arrival of another raging bull. Within the time it took to steep a cup of tea, two raging bulls came charging after each other, seemingly caught up in a courtship dance.

"For the sake of gaining experience, I guess I have to do this," he muttered to himself.

Picking up a stone, Ning Qi repeated his previous tactic.

The two bulls, in the throes of mating season, charged at Ning Qi with wild abandon, only to be met by the swift arc of his raised butcher's knife.

"Huashan Mountain Splitting!"

"Dragon Fly!"

With precise strikes, Ning Qi decapitated one bull and then sliced through the neck of the other, having bestowed upon these moves names that were as elegant as they were deadly.

"Host, congratulations on successfully slaying a Third Rank high-level raging bull, you have earned 10,000 experience points."

"Host, congratulations on successfully slaying a Third Rank high-level raging bull, you have earned 10,000 experience points."

In an instant, he racked up 20,000 experience points, outpacing the gains from consuming elixirs.

Ning Qi was now a mere 70,000 experience points shy of leveling up.

One by one, the raging bulls fell by his hand, their bodies amassing into a small mountain. After half a day, the system finally chimed in with the notification of his advancement.

"Host, congratulations on your promotion to a Four Stars Grand Battle Master!"

Host: Ning Qi.

Rank: Four Stars Grand Battle Master.

Experience Points: 0 / 200,000.

Cultivation Technique: Dragon-shape Prajna Arts, Third Level, 384 / 10,000.

Martial Skill: Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms, Fourth Level, 1,249 / 100,000.

HP: 12,500.

Alchemy: Third Rank Alchemist, Proficiency 82,000 / 100,000.

Dragon Slaying Coins: 500.

Ning Qi eyed the meager sum of Dragon Slaying Coins with a sense of urgency. He needed a strategy; the Dragon Slaying Shop was filled with treasures beyond his reach, and the deprivation was unbearable.

So far, he was aware of only three ways to acquire Dragon Slaying Coins. The first, a brute force approach: slaying Demonic Beasts or dragons with Dragon Clan lineage would yield the coveted coins. The second method involved completing system-assigned missions that might also dispense Dragon Slaying Coins. The third option was through the Gambling Gift Bag.

The likelihood of finding a Dragon Slaying Coin in a Gambling Gift Bag was slim, yet it remained the most straightforward method. If the creature was a Boss-level Demonic Beast, the probability of obtaining a Gambling Gift Bag increased significantly.

Ning Qi had set his sights on a particular saber technique within the Dragon Slaying Shop. It held the 36th position among the Heavenly Rank martial arts and was known as the Moonlight Blade. Comprising nine forms, the technique promised that those who mastered it could unleash a strike akin to a celestial bridge spanning the gap between the horizon and the luminous moon.

Priced at 160,000 Dragon Slaying Coins, it was a steal compared to the technique just above it, which cost a hefty 280,000. That's what drew Ning Qi to it.

"I've still got a long road ahead," Ning Qi mused. For now, he decided to focus on the task at hand and persist in drawing out the monsters.

The disappearance of several raging bulls from their herd had finally caught the attention of a Third Rank Boss-level raging bull. Accompanied by its lieutenants, it arrived at the scene of the last known sighting, trudging around in an attempt to use its limited intelligence to sniff out the hidden assailant.

Suddenly, a stone struck its horn.

The Third Rank Boss-level raging bull's eyes blazed with fury as it charged toward the source of the throw. Its subordinates, confused yet sensing their leader's urgency, trailed behind.

Rounding a corner, they were met with a grisly sight: their fallen kin piled high. There stood Ning Qi, next to the heap of raging bull carcasses, his face breaking into a taunting grin.
