C105 The Death of the Raging Bull

Ning Qi found himself in a perilous situation as a Third Rank Boss level raging bull, accompanied by three elite Third Rank raging bulls, charged at him simultaneously. He made a quick retreat, hoping to use the forest and terrain to his advantage. However, he hadn't anticipated that the four beasts would bulldoze through the trees, uprooting them as if they were mere weeds.

After some time, having drained much of the raging bulls' strength, Ning Qi gripped his Dragon Slaying Saber and turned to confront his pursuers. One of the elite bulls couldn't evade in time and collided with the razor-sharp blade, which sliced from its forehead deep into its belly.

"Host, congratulations on your successful kill of a Third Rank elite raging bull. You've earned 12,000 experience points!"

The remaining bulls, witnessing their fallen comrade, charged with renewed fury. Ning Qi leaped up, somersaulting onto an adjacent tree, while the three bulls crashed into one another, their massive force sending them into a temporary daze.

Seizing the moment, Ning Qi dispatched the other two elite bulls. The leader, a Third Rank Boss level raging bull, let out a frenzied roar. It violently shook its head, flinging the corpses of its kin aside before charging at Ning Qi, unbridled rage in its eyes.

As the Boss level bull bore down on him like a relentless tank, Ning Qi uttered a quick prayer: "I want the Gambling Gift Bag!" With that, he delivered a mighty slash.

The bull, slightly more cunning than expected, tilted its head to counter with its horn, as formidable as any battle weapon. But against the Dragon Slaying Blade, the horn was severed as easily as slicing through tofu, the blade burying itself deep into the bull's skull.

Stumbling forward from the momentum, the raging bull collapsed with a thunderous crash, kneeling defeated before Ning Qi.

"Host, congratulations on slaying a Third Rank Boss level Demonic Beast. You've been awarded 30,000 experience points."

With a hefty sum of experience points now to his name, Ning Qi couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction.

"Host, congratulations on acquiring the Gambling Gift Bag. Please open it within the next 24 hours."

"Activate!"

Upon opening the Gambling Gift Bag, Ning Qi was greeted with thirteen options, each more dazzling than the last. Most were trivial, like some low-grade Profound Rank Battle Weapons. He scanned through them until his eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Is that really 100 Dragon Slaying Coins?"

Sure enough, the last option, number thirteen, boldly offered 100 Dragon Slaying Coins!

With a hopeful heart, Ning Qi initiated the wager.

The pointer whirred into motion, spinning furiously before coming to a halt. Ning Qi's expression soured—he was just one option away from the 100 Dragon Slaying Coins.

"Host, congratulations on obtaining an excellent cow gallbladder pouch!"

The system's voice chimed in.

But then, another alert followed.

"Host, as you have slain the direct descendant of the Raging Bull King in Raging Bull Canyon, the king now leads a charge against you. Eliminate all the raging bulls within a month. Succeed, and you'll earn 2000 Dragon Slaying Coins. Fail, and you'll forfeit the same amount."

"What?"

A mix of shock and elation washed over Ning Qi. The mission was unexpected, but the reward of 2000 Dragon Slaying Coins was tantalizing. Failure had never crossed his mind.

Soon, a thunderous rumble approached from behind, the ground trembling as the raging bulls' bellows filled the air.

Ning Qi was about to release Purple, but the system interjected, "Host, during the 'Barbarian Ox's Death' quest, you cannot release any flying demonic pets."

"System, you're heartless!"

Ning Qi swore as he took off running. There truly was no such thing as a free lunch. He had hoped to leverage Purple's ability to fly and outmaneuver the raging bull herd, making the mission a breeze. Now, completing the mission was the least of his worries—he needed to figure out how to survive first!

Then, up ahead, Ning Qi spotted a familiar silhouette.

"Sun Zeshi, over here!"

Ning Qi waved his hand exuberantly and shouted with joy.

Sun Zeshi stared at Ning Qi, his eyes wide and mouth agape. Ning Qi was fully aware that Sun Zeshi had come to kill him, yet why was he so jubilant? It was as if he had just been reunited with a long-lost lover.

However, the thunderous rumbling that ensued raised Sun Zeshi's suspicions. Clearly, Ning Qi was being pursued by a formidable Demonic Beast. With this realization, a smirk of schadenfreude crept across Sun Zeshi's face as he leapt into the air and took flight.

"You expect me to save you? Have you lost your mind?" Sun Zeshi said with a smile.

He had no intention of dispatching Ning Qi so swiftly. He yearned to inflict prolonged torment upon him, to sate the vengeance festering in his heart. Watching Ning Qi being hounded and harried by the Demonic Beast seemed like an apt choice.

Lifting his gaze, Sun Zeshi's smile solidified on his face. A vast cloud of dust billowed a thousand feet behind Ning Qi, where an enormous king of raging bulls led a stampede of thousands, their heads lowered as they charged. Trees, rocks, and Demonic Beasts in their path were obliterated.

Even a Fifth Rank Demon Beast would need to sidestep such a formidable onslaught!

"Sun Zeshi, block their path!" Ning Qi bellowed.

"These raging bulls will grind you to dust. Your demise will serve as a tribute to my son's spirit!" Sun Zeshi retorted with a cold laugh.

This development freed him from any lingering hesitation. Otherwise, given Ning Qi's esteemed status, the Emperor would not take kindly to the one responsible for his death.

"Stop these raging bulls. If you slay them, I'll reward you with five thousand Yellow Rank Medium-grade Spirit Nourishing Pills!" Ning Qi called out as he continued to flee.

Sun Zeshi's expression shifted subtly, his breaths growing heavier. Five thousand Yellow Rank Medium-grade Spirit Nourishing Pills? A flicker of indecision crossed his face.

"The family's supply of pills has dwindled by thirty to forty percent since Daneng's passing. Securing these five thousand pills could compensate for the loss incurred by his death," he thought.

Yet, he found Ning Qi utterly contemptible.

"He mentioned stopping and killing the raging bulls, but he never said I couldn't kill him afterward."

As the thought crossed his mind, a glint sparked in Sun Zeshi's eyes, and he cracked a slight smile. Swiftly, he flew over to Ning Qi, snatched him up, and soared into the sky.

"Kid, are you telling the truth? If you're playing me, I'll drop you this instant!" Sun Zeshi fought the impulse to smack Ning Qi dead right there and fixed him with an icy glare.

Meanwhile, the herd of raging bulls had charged in, spotting Ning Qi aloft. They bellowed skyward, their roars sending tremors through the earth. The king of the raging bulls locked its bloodshot eyes on Ning Qi. In a sudden leap, it soared over thirty feet, yet still fell short of reaching Ning Qi and Sun Zeshi. It landed with a thunderous crash, quickly righting itself, and glared up at the pair with seething hatred.
