C106 A Massacre

Ning Qi glanced down briefly before grinning at Sun Zeshi. "Absolutely, it's genuine. I, the Dragon Slaying Marquis, am known for keeping my promises."

Sun Zeshi scoffed. "I don't trust you. Hand over the pill now."

With a chuckle, Ning Qi looked at Sun Zeshi. "Lao Sun, do you take me for an idiot? What's to stop you from tossing me aside once I've given you the pill? Deal with these thugs first, then we can talk about the pill."

Sun Zeshi's grip tightened, his knuckles whitening. "If you don't hand over the pill this instant, I'll throw you down myself."

Ning Qi laughed heartily. "It's a dead end either way. Go ahead, throw me. But you can forget about finding even one Spiritual Nourishment Pill."

Sun Zeshi's face twitched, but he ultimately conceded. "A deposit, then!"

"Alright," Ning Qi guffawed, "these five hundred Spiritual Nourishment Pills will serve as the deposit."

He produced five enormous porcelain bottles, each filled with a hundred Yellow Rank Medium-grade Spirit Nourishing Pills. Sun Zeshi, upon seeing this, frisked Ning Qi midair. Ning Qi had anticipated this; with his spatial wrap, Sun Zeshi wouldn't find a thing.

As expected, Sun Zeshi's face contorted with confusion, finding nothing on Ning Qi. After verifying the pills' authenticity, a glimmer of satisfaction crossed his face. He secured the pills and demanded, "I need at least two thousand five hundred Spiritual Nourishment Pills for a deposit."

"Then throw me down," Ning Qi replied, unflinching.

"Do you seriously think I wouldn't dare?" Sun Zeshi seethed with anger.

"Consider these five hundred pills as funeral expenses for your son. The remaining four thousand five hundred can accompany me in death," Ning Qi retorted indifferently.

Sun Zeshi, remarkable in his restraint, managed not to hurl Ning Qi to the raging bulls below, though his face was a network of throbbing veins. After a tense pause, he issued a cold threat, "If you're playing me for a fool, I'll ensure you regret being alive."

In the end, he made the rational choice to take the remaining 4,500 Spiritual Nourishment Pills.

The king of the raging bulls bellowed furiously at the pair.

With a cold snort, Sun Zeshi's Battle Power coalesced into a gigantic flaming hand that struck at the bull king.

This was the Sun family's signature martial technique: the Flaming Palm.

The Flaming Palm hit the king of the raging bulls, erupting into a fiery blaze. But once the flames cleared, the bull's thick green hide was merely singed, without any real harm done. It kept roaring at them relentlessly.

Ning Qi taunted, "Lao Sun, seems like you haven't quite mastered that palm technique. How about you drop me off somewhere safe, so you can really let loose?"

"Shut up!" Sun Zeshi shot Ning Qi a frosty glance.

He then unleashed a series of furious slaps at the raging bull herd. The Third Rank bulls were not as resilient as their king. Several fell dead at Sun Zeshi's hand, throwing the herd into disarray once more.

A cold smirk played on Sun Zeshi's lips as he continued to decimate the king's followers, who could do nothing but rage helplessly.

Before long, Sun Zeshi had slain over a hundred raging bulls. It wouldn't be much longer before his mission was complete. At that thought, a sly smile flickered in Ning Qi's eyes.

Once the mission was done, Purple would be free, and he would no longer have to fear Sun Zeshi.

"Huh, what's causing all that ruckus up ahead?"

Huangfu Fei hovered in the void, his brow furrowed as he peered at the billowing dust in the distance. Unable to locate Ning Qi for the moment, he decided to fly toward the commotion.

Upon spotting Sun Zeshi with Ning Qi, battling the raging bulls, he landed and concealed half his body behind a large tree, observing the duo.

"There's Sun Zeshi. Since Ning Qi's already in his clutches, there's no need for me to intervene. But why hasn't he killed Ning Qi to avenge his son? Why is he tangling with those bulls? Could it be he's after the materials for Ning Qi to refine pills..."

Huangfu Fei mulled over the situation and it all started to click.

He was well aware of the bad blood between Ning Qi and the Sun family. Knowing Sun Zeshi as he did, there was no doubt in his mind that Zeshi would seek vengeance for his son. Ning Qi's days were numbered. With that in mind, all Huangfu Fei had to do was stick with Sun Zeshi. Once Ning Qi was out of the picture, he could make his way back to Jing City. And should the Emperor decide to dig deeper into the affair, Huangfu Fei was confident he'd remain untouchable.

A sly smile crept across Huangfu Fei's lips at the thought.

As the pile of raging bull carcasses grew without any sign of retreat, Sun Zeshi sensed something amiss. He turned to Ning Qi with a frosty tone, "What exactly did you take from them?"

Ning Qi shook his head. "What could these raging bulls possibly have? They've lost their minds."

Unmoved, Sun Zeshi replied icily, "Be that as it may, I'm not about to waste time. I'll escort you to safety. Then you'll give me the Spiritual Nourishment Pill."

Ning Qi grinned, "No can do. I won't rest until they're all dead. It's just not satisfying otherwise. Come on, Lao Sun, put some back into it. The sooner they're gone, the sooner you get your pill."

Sun Zeshi's gaze shifted back to the raging bull herd.

The slaughter raged on for an entire day and night.

The ground was a river of blood, with countless demonic beasts lurking in the forest, biding their time. Their malevolent eyes were fixed on the bull carcasses and the two figures above.

Only three Third Rank Boss level lieutenants remained by the side of the raging bull king; the rest had fallen in battle.

Sun Zeshi was visibly spent, though he tried to conceal it. Ning Qi, however, noticed the signs. "You must be running low on Battle Power after all this time in the air," he chuckled. "Let me handle the raging bull king and his lackeys. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."

Sun Zeshi's smile held a hint of scorn, "You think you can take on the king of raging bull? Even a typical Peak Battle Spirit would struggle against him. And you, a mere Four Stars Grand Battle Master, think you can best him? If you die, who will provide my Spiritual Nourishment Pill?"

Ning Qi chuckled, "You were at the Imperial City duel that day, weren't you?"

Sun Zeshi's face darkened. "What of it?"

"You'd know if you were there—I possess the power to fight above my rank," Ning Qi said, his smile taking on a frosty edge.

"Fine! Let's see if you can take down the king of the raging bulls with your Four-Star Grand Battle Master skills."

With that, Sun Zeshi released his hold, and Ning Qi plummeted to the ground.

The enraged king of the raging bulls, with its last three minions in tow, charged wildly toward Ning Qi's landing spot. It was only upon facing the beast that Ning Qi grasped the full extent of its terror.

First, there was its massive body, nearly as tall as a two-story building, followed by the thick mass of Haemal Strands crowning its head, totaling a staggering three hundred thousand HP!

Defeating the king of the raging bulls amidst an onslaught from three Third-Rank Boss-level beasts was no simple feat.

Thus, as soon as Ning Qi hit the ground, he spun on his heels and bolted.
