C2 Pack Shadows: The Fleeing Mate

There is a shivering voice in the Alpha's room.

"Alpha Festus, I plead with you. Permit me to locate my mate, I will surely return!" George shakily breathes as he says.

His eyes pool tears, "the moon goddess confirmed that she is my mate. You know, don't you? Now. Please lift the barriers so I can make my exit."

Alpha Festus adjusts his seated posture on his regal throne, casting a wicked gaze upon George, who is kneeling and securely bound in chains.

He chuckles evilly, "you're a werewolf. Sever those chains. You have the power to." As he says this, his most important beta stifles giggles at George in mockery. He heaves a deep sigh afterwards.

"This is no joke, Alpha. She is my mate. My rightful one." George voices his displeasure.

Festus smirks, "go ahead and bring her to this place then. You can control me with your little wolf power."

George mumbles to himself, "Association of Wolves - await my presence."

Then, a heavenly voice strikes his heart - it is the moon goddess contacting him. "You've been keeping us waiting. You're 22. Seize an opportunity and escape. Go ahead and meet your mate."

George's lips brighten with a widened smile after he receives the warm reminder from the moon goddess. He had been prompting himself to sever the chains but he did conclude that his wolf power isn't capable of that. And if he doesn't escape successfully, the chains will be more secure on his arms and legs.

Festus notices his sudden reaction, how different it is from his initial reactions, then he calls for his Beta.

"Come with me. Let's summon the moon goddess." He says.

"What's the purpose, Alpha?" The Beta responds, displaying his disinterest in carrying out the Alpha's command. The Alpha's eyes radiate, hinting at a potential shift and attack.

But the Beta salutes him to show his continued loyalty, and the Alpha returns to normality.

"Let us know the progress Albert has made." He mentions. "I'm not certain if he's been able to inject Kellie with the wolfsbane? That bitch might not cooperate with him."

George breathes shakily to attract the Alpha's attention but Festus cuts him dead.

"Mind link Albert - it's better that way." A different wolf suggests an idea. Alpha Festus returns to sit on the throne.

In an instant, his eyes suddenly glow, signifying an ongoing mind connection with his other Beta.

"Albert, how's it with you? Did you capture her? Is your wolf tired - may I send the Porsche to convey both of you?"

Everyone in the room can see the bright light from his eyes but no one can hear a word from his mind. It doesn't only apply to an Alpha - it applies to all.

Albert retorts with a shivering tone, "there's a problem, Festus."

Festus suppresses the tension and asks, "what's it?"

"I need someone to assist me in this mission. It is herculean to accomplish alone. I will soon be seized by the pack. I'm in London Pack alone while you're there in Houston, chilling out, just imagine." Albert comes off.

"You didn't have to sound rude. I will dispatch your fellow Betas except one. What about that?"

"Definitely reasonable, Festus. I will expect them before the day breaks so we can capture the girl before the ceremony starts."

"Reminder - do not leak it to anyone that you have the abilities of a white wolf. Do not even let them guess. Whenever you leave a place, do not rush through the door. Don't open any door mysteriously, so no one will suspect you, alright?" Festus warns him sternly.

"You're the only wolf of this pack with the white wolf ability. Be overly careful so the pack doesn't retrieve the power from you when discovered." Festus adds.

"I've listened to your rant. Do you intend on sending her mate, as well?" Albert inquires.

"George?"

"Yes." Albert whispers back.

"Fuck you." Festus cusses.

"Fuck you too, Festus." Albert chuckles softly as he disconnects from the mind link. He's hid in the dungeon of the pack. A dungeon in a pack is where wolves caught in the red, commiting a crime, are being thrown to. Higher offences could lead to being locked in the pack cell for eternity. Albert glares at the entrance of the pack to know when his fellow Beta arrive here.

"A rude subject indeed. A brat - he's really got the features of his parents." Festus denotes as he disconnects from the mind link as well.

His other subjects run to meet him, "why did it take so long? Did you connect him?"

Festus rolls his eyes angrily at them, for a response.

"Fasten the shackles around the waste product. Come back for orders afterwards." Festus declares.

Three of the subjects move towards George while the other four stay behind.

Festus rolls his eyes angrily at the other four, "do you want more records of deaths?"

They leave his presence and join the other three, to fasten the shackles around George.

The seven wolves lift him, making a move to take him to the pack cell.

"Hold him more tightly!" Festus demands, when he notices a sudden change in George.

"Too late." George whispers loudly as he pulls out of the tight grip, pushing back the warriors and fighting Festus effectively. He drops to the floor with a loud thud, which poses a bigger threat to the wolves. His wolf almost takes control but he gives it to his human. Then, he approaches Festus gently as other subjects groan in discomfort.

"Let me go." George deadpans but Festus shakes his head in disagreement. His subjects heal themselves, and walk up to George to defend the Alpha. But a few inches away for the Betas to capture George, he loses control of his human body as a greater power bubbles within him. His eyes radiate suddenly and his bones crack within his body, unleashing his wolf. Now in his wolf, he growls loudly at them. The subjects transform to their wolves immediately they notice that. When Festus detects the palpable tension in the large room; swiftly, he retreats, finding refuge within the security room. Activating the warning signal, the entire pack is alerted.

"Don't let anyone in or out." He conveys an urgent message across the pack.

"Do you copy?" He slowly says.

"Do you copy?!" He pounds his fist against the wall. With frustration evident in his voice, he shrieks.

"Someone right there? Assholes!"

A cool voice responds through the pack security system, "yes, I copy. We are not assholes. We were asleep, so you couldn't reach us easily."

Festus slowly smiles as he hears the voice.

He repeats, "do not let anyone in or out of the pack." After, he walks out of the security room to check up on his subjects. Upon his return to his quarters, he observes four of his subjects wincing in pain, blood oozing, while three others continue to grunt and howl, challenging the formidable brown wolf, George.

As George sights Festus, he growls much wildly as he breaks through the wall and storms out. The three subjects which are strong still, follow hard after him. The walls shatter, fragments raining down, some hitting Festus' eyes. Swiftly, he blows them away using his wolf ability.

"Festus..." One of his wounded subjects beckons to him for help, in his human body.

"Shift and take down George." Another wounded subject advises. Festus pretends to be shifting already but he isn't able to. He runs out of the room with his physical might, and scoots over to the pack wards.

Alpha Festus' shifting power had been disabled, until Albert accepts to take his place or his power should be extracted, to enable the Alpha. Festus gasps as he faces the pack ward - the gate. He rubs his eyes to be certain about what he sights - those subjects that pursued George are in the pack. They lost track of him already.

"He escaped." One of them whispers disappointedly.

"He did what?!" Festus screams in fear.

"You could have shifted and helped us instead." One of his subjects find an excuse. Festus rolls his eyes at him and keeps ranting.

"Do you know we are doomed? The dude will be mated to Kellie when we are alive?" Festus grunts.

His four subjects move behind him.

"I'm glad you all know we are!" He chuckles nervously, glaring at his subjects.

"Our wolves healed us pretty quick. Where's George? Was he caught?" They chorus.

"Shut up." Festus deadpans.

"Albert need you in London Pack. All of you." Festus starts to give orders.

"Shift and go to Association of Wolves Pack in London. Ensure George doesn't reach there before you do!" Festus commands.

Richard, one of his subjects, opposes the command, "it's not advisable. If George could break off from the chain, fight seven of us, and scare the Alpha away so he'd escape, I'm certain he'd have been at the London Pack by now."

"Do you want to die? Get the hell out of here and find George. Bring him here - dead or alive." Festus orders again.

They all howl as they turn to their wolves, except for Richard. As Festus intends to lift the wards so they'll leave, they rather jump over the fence to pursue George that had left about five minutes earlier.

"Scumbags!" Festus cusses as they leave the pack.

"Anyway, I need someone to stay back. You should fill the gap." He says, and clears his throat awkwardly.

"Don't die yet. Try to chill before you say a word." One of the ten white wolves employed for security of the pack, tells the Alpha.

"Thanks, moron." Festus appreciates derisively as he returns to his quarters, with Richard.

"Ensure the pack's connection is intact." He commands Richard. Richard slightly nods his head and they walk further to his quarters. Richard kicks the door and it falls to the ground, revealing how weak it has been from George's forceful hits on it.

"Trash indeed. I'm a bit glad that my wolves are safe though. But, hold on, is this my quarters? Do you know how much renovation costs? This happened a thousand years back and promised never to repeat itself. Now it has." Festus grumbles as he walks into the room.

Richard heaves a sigh of confusion as he runs to the security room, where Festus earlier visited. He activates the pack's connection and he listens to the howling and growling of some certain wolves.

Festus is behind him, just a few minutes he got here.

"Waste product, transform into your wolf and listen to the wolves attentively." One of the requirements to hear the voices of other wolves clearly, is to be in your wolf as well. Even if you're going to half shift.

"Not interested in shifting." Richard concludes and walks out on him. Festus rolls his eyes angrily at him and calls him back. He stops in his track, and looks back at Festus.

"Festus, our dear Alpha..." Richard says, smiling awkwardly. "... kindly shift and listen to the wolves. Let's know their progress." He purposely says this because he is aware that Festus is unable to shift to his wolf. If only Festus knows that Richard knows one of his secrets, he would be down with sadness.

"Then, why are you a closer wolf?" Festus inquires furiously.

Richard gasps, pretending to be surprised - he actually doesn't want Festus to suspect that he knows his secret. He shifts into his wolf and listens to the voices of the Beta, as the Alpha commanded.

"We are at the London Pack now. He doesn't know we are behind him. He intends to barge into the pack but he has not gotten the best chance yet - he's still lurking around so he won't be suspected." Voices speak through the security system.

"We will give more updates as soon as they come. And be rest assured that we will bring Kellie alive to our pack."
