C3 Portals Of Panic: Mate In Peril

"It's finally your day. Hooray!"

It's 6:00AM. Kimberly Leo gently creaks open her door and steps quickly into Kellie's room. About to rattle the doorknob, she realizes that it is on the latch. Kellie wouldn't have left her door on the latch, something is definitely unusual.

"Kellie?" Kimberly shallowly calls as she tiptoes into her room. Then, she marches inside but can't find her in bed.

"She must be in one of the rooms downstairs." She encourages herself and descends the stairs but Charles grapples her before she reaches the living room.

He pulls her in for a hug, and in turn, it's soothing to Kimberly, "she must be with the security wolves at the pack ward." He already knows what her concern is.

"Pack ward? Why would you let her go?" Kimberly rather reacts in a way Charles doesn't expect. She pulls out of the hug forcibly and descends the stairs quickly.

Charles, perplexed if she had a nightmare and she's afraid it might come to reality, questions, "is there anything wrong?"

"Everything wrong!" Kimberly hollers from downstairs as Charles starts to follow her behind. Her heart throbs with fear as she finds Kellie.

"She told me she has something important to tell me, and she came into my room." Charles tries to remind himself of the past event. "She then pleaded with me to go check something in the pack - she promised to return as soon as possible. But...that's just a few minutes back."

Swiftly slipping into his sandals, he dashes after her.

"I swear - she's safe! Don't sweat it! You're pregnant with a kid!" He hollers as he attempts to catch up with her.

"Exactly the only reason you are able to catch up with me." She asserts and pauses, gasping for breath. As Charles walks her to the pack ward now, the security wolves bow to show some respect, while requesting what they need assistance for.

"Kellie...Kellie." Kimberly stutters, almost running out of oxygen. The security wolves look puzzled, not understanding what she meant by her words.

"Kellie!" Charles screams, on her behalf. "Where is she?"

One of them scoffs, "kellie didn't come here at all."

Charles' eyes bulge, as he glares at them. "What?!"

Kimberly unusually remains quiet, while she no longer gasps. She presses her ears and rubs her eyes, wanting to confirm what she heard.

"Well, she brushed past us and waved at us. I overheard that she intended to say hello to her mate." One of them recalls.

"She told the person she was conversing with, that she sniffed her mate's scent and couldn't resist finding him."

"What the..." Charles furiously sighs and sharply exhales.

Kimberly breathes shakily, "and you couldn't...?"

The head wolf gulps at how Kimberly stutters, he points at a corner, "at the back of her room."

Charles and Kimberly grasp the inkling as they return to their apartment. Kimberly's heart throbs with fear as it looks evident that she can't survive it in Charles' absence. Charles shuts the door behind him and requests his mate to lay on the cushion. He ascends the stairs and marches inside Kellie's room - he notices the happiness in her mood. The security wolf could be right.

"Kellie!" Charles calls at once, and Kimberly's eyes blink, and she can't resist the urge to ascend the staircase.

Kellie faces back and rolls her eyes gently at Charles - she lowers herself to the ground through the window and lands in a wolf's hand. Kimberly crawls to the room but Charles helps her up, as they both fix their gazes at Kellie.

"Kellie?" Kimberly softly calls. "It's mom."

Kellie waves at her from downstairs, outside the pack but George, the wolf that collected her when she landed, pulls her in for a tight hug and cuddles her, displaying an emotional scene. He shifts back to his human, with Kellie's head still laid on his chest, while he changes into good clothing, and they both return to the pack ward, from outside of the pack.

"Kellie? Who's that? A kidnapper? Where are you heading to?" Charles repeatedly asks.

"We are coming into your pack, sire." George returns words with smile on his face. He waves his hands, and smiles lit up the faces of Charles and Kimberly.

Note that Kellie lowered herself from her room and landed in a wolf's hand, outside the pack. Now, George with her is walking back to the pack, to make everything organized.

George cuddles her body to his satisfaction, while she remains hunched to his back. Charles and Kimberly keep watching both of them walk to the pack ward, genuinely hoping to see them both so they'll appreciate the dude for saving their kid.

But just as both of them are almost at the pack ward. Suddenly!

Six wild wolves confront them, grunting lowly - they look more like close wolves to an Alpha {Betas}.

But George plasters a smirk on his chin, as he walks towards them.

"It's great to see your beautiful face, Ms Kellie and brother George." Alfred emerges from his concealed spot, as he joins the six wolves, to make the number seven.

"Keep a close eye, let me get down there." Kimberly decides. "I recommend ordering a few wolves from the TCE section to accompany me in the fight against the thugs that have stopped her from getting to us."

"Thugs, you say?" Charles chuckles softly. "These are strong wolves from a different pack but to me, they don't look harmful."

"Do the fuck I asked you to do!" Kimberly hollers angrily at him but Charles keeps his calm, prompting his ears to enable his wolf's abilities to listen to distant voices.

"I shouldn't have been mated to this strong headed beast." Kimberly snaps, rolling her eyes.

"Hold on, I'll carry out your command but let me listen to what they're bickering about. Then, I will adjust the decision." Charles encourages her.

George shrugs his shoulders, endearing the wolves to attack him.

"Who the fuck are these?" He boldly asks, as he lowers Kellie from his back.

"You recognize us, do you not? Runaway scandal." Alfred rudely remarks, walking towards him with dangerous steps.

"Come on here, bastard she-wolf." Another Beta growls at Kellie. Her lips shiver and she screams as the Beta comes for her.

Henry, another Beta, waves at Alfred, "Beta Alfred, please do your job. Remember that emotions cloud judgment."

Kellie rubs her eyes as she notices the familiar face - that of Alfred. "Isn't that you, Beta?"

"Do you by any chance know him?" George quietly asks, as he shields her jealously.

"Looks like an attack - a set-up." Charles' lips quiver when he tells Kimberly this. She gulps down her throat and almost slumps to the floor.

Charles lays her to bed and skedaddles out of the room, descending the stairs in a flash.

The big wall clock in the living room ticks. It's 7:00AM - thirty minutes left for all warriors to resume work in the pack, officially.

Charles speeds out of the living room and marches towards the pack ward.

"Hi! Please help me!" He pleads with the security wolves.

"How can we?" They respond but he distracts them and lifts the wards as he runs away from the pack. He catches the sight of the wild wolves against his kid, Kellie, and her savior who appears to be a male.

"Nope, no! This is not happening." He whispers to himself, trying to maintain his calm. Two out of the security white wolves accompany him to the battlefield, but creep.

As Alfred is about to grasp Kellie, George's eyes radiate and his wolf bubbles angrily within him as he turns into the big brown wolf. Alfred, on the other hand, growls and shifts to his wolf as well.

George swirls Kellie to his tail as his opponents surround him, trying to level up with Kellie and bring her down but George in his big wolf dodges her successfully.

"Give us Kellie." Henry warns as his wolf gets angry but he cautions himself, not to shift. Alfred lunges an attack at George at once, aiming to grasp Kellie and throw her to another wolf but George dodges him and rather kicks him mercilessly while Kellie swirls to different angles but doesn't fall.

Now, Charles reaches the spot, with the two security wolves that volunteered to accompany him. Their eyes glisten as they undergo a transformation, shifting into their wolves.

Three of them join the team of George and Kellie to make it five against seven opponents.

When Alfred sights them, he returns to his human and dresses up. He doesn't want to be noticed because he's a white wolf and they're rarely seen. Once caught, they tend to be retained to a pack, never to leave again. Alfred escapes from the battlefield and watches his other warriors fight his opponents, from a distance.

"Kellie!" Kimberly screams her name, having escaped from the room. "Come to mummy, baby girl."

She sniffles, waving at Kellie but Kellie doesn't catch a glimpse of her.

Charles exposes his scent and as George perceives it, he nods his head, understanding that he's for Kellie and not against her. He swirls Kellie better and she rolls in the air. She expects to land in Kimberly's arms but she doesn't, to her dismay.

She lands somewhere totally different from the pack - actually the opposite building of the pack. She rolls on the ground as reality dawns on her.

Kimberly shivers when she realizes that.

"How...did that happen?" She asks, confused greatly.

"Holly molly, where the hell did she fly to?" Charles grumbles, as he sights all the wolves now as humans. Their attention now converges at how to rescue Kellie from a strange land. George scoots over to Kimberly while others walk quickly to meet him too as everyone starts to blame the other.

Kimberly grabs Charles' shirt, screaming at him, "you caused this! Didn't you? You made this shit happen."

George's eyes distract her suddenly, "look for my mate. Now. Else, I'll kill you right here." He bluntly says. The two security wolves that accompanied George return to their workplace with no second thought.

"Scumbags, you're responsible for this!" Charles angrily screams at the cruel wolves, still being held firmly by Kimberly.

Alfred remains quiet but walks over there and stops the other wolves from bickering with Charles. He directs them to a separate spot to rub minds on the next line of action.

Kimberly's lips shiver, "Kellie is lost, Charles." But Charles pushes her away and she staggers to the ground.

"I instructed you to order wolves to rescue our daughter but you didn't!" She fumes on the floor.

George drops himself to the ground, remembering how arduous it is to break through the fence that separates this pack from the opposite building where a lot of strange activities take place.

"Exactly how Cassandra and Melissa landed there and never returned, until we found their bodies at the bank of a beach." Kimberly grunts.

Charles attempts to climb up the strong fence but discourages himself afterwards.

It's actually called Wasteland. A place where even the moon goddess goes through some certain processes before she can rescue wolves from there.

Alfred suddenly approaches Charles, enlightening his mood, "we got a plan."

"What....is it?" They chorus, except for George who doesn't trust any of their moves. But he listens to them since opinions matter a lot in this situation.

"Follow behind me." He orders as they all run after him, towards the north direction while the leaves rustle, responding to their rough moves at it.

"All wolves should be present in the pack now. Where are you heading to?" Alpha Martin of the London Pack, screams at Kimberly but she responds with her middle fingers.

"I'm sorry all this happened. We've got this anyway." Charles encourages his pregnant mate, Kimberly. She nods her head and they keep running. Then suddenly they pause.

"Is this the passage way?" Kimberly curiously asks.

"No." Albert says as he clips.

"How?" Charles muffles under his breath.

No one answers the question but Alfred directs them inside a hut, a very rare building. He kicks his feet at the door and it falls to the ground, paving way for them to enter easily.
