C7 Chapter seven

"Can you narrate it?"

I winced in pain as his one of his fingers accidentally poked an open wound.

"I'm really sorry, Amyra. So sorry. Didn't mean to do that."

"Yes, I know. It's fine."

But it wasn't, because his finger had poked hard and I guess it was where the Luna had used her nails to scratch deep. It hurt quote much. I felt some cold air on that poked spot.

"What are you doing?"

"I am trying to make it not hurt anymore."

"By using your mouth to blow air in my back?"

"Yes. I truly am sorry. It was unintentional."

"I know that, Luthan. You don't have to keep saying sorry."

"Yes, I have to." He replied in between blowing air on my back. That technique had worked because the pain had subsided. "So you don't think I was sent by the Luna to hurt you too."

It wasn't funny but I laughed still. Luthan was funny. And sweet.

"Maybe I am beginning to think that you are."

"Oh no. My back luck is beginning to showcase itself."

"You have back luck?"

I was amused.

"Kind of."

"Tell me about it."

I felt very comfortable on his legs. I relaxed my head on him as my back was open to him, injured and raw. Where was my shame? Still, I didn't make a move to stand or remove my body.

"This bad luck just likes to ruin my chances with beautiful women."

"Oh."

I blushed instantly. Thankfully, he didn't see. That would have been downright embarrassing.

"What?"

"Nothing. I just don't..."

I let my words die on my tongue. I didn't actually have what to say. No one had actually referred to as a beautiful woman before. Although, no man had talked to me before and honestly, I was always the shy type and had no time for things like that.

"Does it still hurt?"

"No. The pain has reduced to a bearable level."

"Oh okay. That's such a relief."

"Are you done applying the ointment?"

"Yes. Does any other place hurt? Any other injured parts? Any scrapes?"

I showed him my arms, the scraps I had gotten from the rough falling to the floor when the Luna had slapped me, twice.

"How did these come about?"

Luthan inquired, already cleaning the dried blood clots on the big scrape. The water wasn't as hot as it has been when he'd brought it, it was more of lukewarm now. But the cleaning process hurt some. He was try to get the dried blood off of the injured surface just a bit above the elbow.

"It's the Luna."

He muttered some profanities under his breath and it made me laugh.

"What's funny?"

"You're cursing."

"Pardon me. It's rude to have done that."

"I'm not offended."

"Really?"

"Should I be?"

"Well, my father told me that it is rude to cuss while a lady around. And he further added that she could change her mind about you."

"Your father is a proper gentleman."

I commended, smiling widely. Temporarily forgetting about wounds and pain and the Luna.

"Yes, he is."

"Hm."

I had nothing more to tell him so I stayed quiet. But then I remembered something and spoke.

"You were talking about your bad luck."

"Yes, what about it?"

He answered as he focused on tending my scrapes.

"Do you have bad luck?"

"If that is you trying to ask me my life's story, then you're in no luck."

"This is me trying to know why you affirmed to having a bad luck."

"Well, I don't have a wife neither do I have a lover. That should be enough revelation."

"And you choose to attest that to bad luck?"

"What else if not bad luck?"

"Tell me why."

"Why what?"

"Why you chose to attest your singleness to bad luck."

He said nothing. I turned to see if he was still into our discussion. He met eyes with me and quickly removed his.

"Forget it, Amyra."

"Well, my curiosity is piqued now."

He shifted his legs around a bit and I raised myself a little.

"Are you in discomfort?"

I asked him.

"What?"

He was trying to stifle a yawn but it was impossible as he ended up covering his mouth as he yawned.

"Are your legs paining you already?"

"No."

But I was already getting up.

"Lie down back, Amyra. I'm fine. I just shifted them a bit so they won't be stiff."

I hesitated.

"I'm serious. Lie back. Your body needs the comfort and relaxation after all it has been through."

I wouldn't lie, I actually wasn't in a rush to get up from his body. Compared to the cold, hard floor of this empty, lonely cell that looked as depressed as it felt, his legs were much better and felt very comfortable.

"If you say so."

I went lax on his legs again, closing my eyes in comfort, enjoying this while it lasted. Few moments later, I unrolled the companionable silence that had folded in on us and turned to him sharply, fear in my gaze.

"What if someone comes and sees you in the cell with me? You know the Alpha and the Luna? They won't go easy on both of us."

"Relax, Amyra. Stay where you are. No one is coming. No one will come."

He sounded so certain.

"You sound so sure. How do you know?"

"I don't know. I just feel it would be so."

His shrug was mindless and carefree.

"So you're just assuming?"

"It's an assumption that would turn to be in our favor. No one is coming. The Alpha's too busy to come check on you and the Luna, well she's been here not quite long ago, according to what you said. There's no one else who'd come here. It's not like there are any other prisoners here."

I looked round the environment and released a pensive breath.

"What's wrong? Something on your mind?"

Luthan asked, concern written on his face.

"I just thought how lonely and cold this place was. What would I have done all by myself if you are not here to keep me company. And it's just my luck that the prison guard assigned to keep me locked in is nice and friendly."

"You're just getting overwhelmed here. This is nothing, Amyra. Whatever I am doing or have done is natural. It's what anyone would do."

"Yes, anyone. Anyone but the Alpha and the Luna."
