C33 Bad News #2

Later that day.

Alex was at Omega. Contrary to popular belief, this company-owned 10 multi-story towers which made the headquarters together. They were all positioned to make circles. 5 towers faced each other and formed an inner circle. While 5 other buildings on the outside formed an outer circle. On the ground, there were water systems that linked the buildings to make a circle.

Inside, Alex was talking to two figures. One was a man, this was Jedidiah's maternal grandfather, Herman. Herman was a medium-sized man with an athletic build. On his head, he has blond curly hair and a full beard. He also has sharp eyebrows which are almost irresistible to women. He has beautiful green eyes which look like gems. He also wore a white suit which was embroidered with beautiful diamonds which ran around the ends of his clothes.

The other was a woman, this woman was Mary. She is Jedidiah's aunt. She has a black wavy hair which was neatly tied into a ponytail. She also has a sexy body figure. Thick, but yet curvy. All her curves were well defined through her formal clothing. She wore a formal long-sleeve button-up shirt, which highlighted her busty twin peaks, and a black blow that danced along with the wind as she walked.

On their faces, both Herman and Mary were grieved. They never expected to be visited with such alarming news. It must be known, Alex barely visits them. So when he came this time, it was on short notice. Both Herman and Mary aren't cultivators, they are normal. So, they don't have the ability to do things cultivators can do. For example, mental communication.

Whenever Alex or David visited them, they would normally mentally communicate with them a day before. However, the only problem is that Herman and Mary can't reply because they aren't cultivators. They can only helplessly receive the message and prepare beforehand.

In front of Alex, Herman was comforting Mary. He loved Meghan so much. After losing his wife a long time ago, Meghan was the only one who reminded him of his late wife. Now, his precious little angel is dead. Killed by infidels who were unable to think for themselves. Not only did he lose Meghan, his daughter, but he lost his only grandchildren and his son-in-law. This type of loss isn't something one can easily recover from.

Looking helplessly at Alex, Herman clenched his fist and said, "Alex, do you mean to tell me that my daughter, Meghan is dead? Do you have an idea of who did it? Please, if you do, say so. Omega can launch a mega-man hunt on whoever did it. It wouldn't cost us at all."

"Unfortunately, No. I am afraid even if I knew, there's nothing Omega can do about it. Don't get me wrong, you guys are powerful, and you don't lack arms. However, in the face of the government, you would be giving your company a death wish." Alex said honestly.

Hearing Alex's response. Herman was even more furious because he hated being helpless. All his life, it was his helplessness that prompted him to become better. Now, his daughter and grandchildren were killed by government officials and he was helpless. He knew very well that what Alex said was true. Publicly supporting, or seeking revenge on the mother of an heir would be equal to publicly disobeying a universal mandate.

What made him madder was the fact that he blindly obeyed the universal mandate by sending legions of Omega warriors to support its cause. This subsequently means that he could be the indirect killer of his daughter and grandchildren because members of his warriors could have been the killers of his family members.

Don't get it wrong. The universal mandate specifically asked everyone to provide members who would support its cause, which is to kill all the heirs born. However, it was specific. Families were to send their young agile males. Dynasties and sects were to send legions of warriors to also support the mandate. Businesses were asked to also send a quarter of their warriors to support the mandate. Failure to respond would lead to disastrous events such as the annihilation of both the family and background(Sects, dynasty, and business). In other words, it was an all-or-nothing basis. There were no exceptions or excuses for the universal mandate.

"Okay, it is well. The deed has already been done. Omega will continue forever. I will hand over all of Meghan's shares to Jedidiah once he is 18 years old. Until then, I will keep everything for him." Herman said promptly.

He then turned to Mary and said, "Mary, honor your sister's wish. Please, take care of my grandson well. One day, when you guys are settled, I will come and visit you guys. Until then, I have to stay and run this company. I love you so much. If you need anything, let me know, and I will send it." As he stroked her wavy hair lovingly.

Still grieved, Mary had no words to say. She could only nod her head like a child as tears flowed down her eyes.

While looking at Mary, Herman spoke to Alex.

"Take care of them for me. I trust you. If there's a need for anything, LET ME KNOW. I WILL NOT LOSE ANY ONE OF MY LOVED ONES AGAIN! If not, do not blame me for raining fire on you." Herman said as he looked over at Alex.

"I am not threatening you, I am just warning you. You know how painful the loss of a loved one is. Just let me know if there is an emergency. I will not hesitate to act. After all, these are the family we are talking about.

Take care of Mary and Jedidiah. Raise him up well. Tech him about his roots(family culture). When he becomes a man, I plan to hand over this company to him. So, please, raise him up well.

I will also fund anything he needs if needed, Just contact me, and I will provide it. I mean it. That being said, I forgot to ask. Where would you guys go? Where would you guys live in?" Herman asked Alex.

"I've heard you. I will do all these with the help of Mary. I promise to take good care of them. I will be retiring as an elder of the Fire Panel sect. That being said, we will be living in a sect called, 'The Great Silverback Gorilla Sect' It is quite ancient. However, I have no doubts about the security of this sect. My father helped build this sect when he was younger with the current patriarch. So, I am entitled to some privileges due to this. I will become an honorable guest elder. Although it is small, I will have the same rights as a grand elder. I am also entitled to some things concerning the sect.

Now, concerning Jedidiah. He should have nothing to worry about. Mary can find a good job there while helping to raise him. Together, we can raise him up well. However, unless he encounters issues with his peers, nothing should be his issue.

However, none of us are clear on the abilities of an heir. I know without a fact that Jedidiah's future is limitless. Depending on the route he goes, no one knows for sure what his future holds. That being said, we must all be ready for the worst at all times," Alex replied frankly.

"Well said. All you have said is true. I am afraid if it eas someone else, they would have a lot to go through. I mean, who can fathom their future? HAHA, I can't wait for him to grow up!" Herman said happily.

Hearing this, the mood of everyone lightened. Smiles started to bloom one after another. The sad Mary started to smile as she realized the blessing in this tragedy. Alex too was laughing with Herman as they both speculated about the future. After a while, they all sat down and celebrated with a toast.

As time passed, they were all wasted. Intoxicated with jubilee and wine, they were about to call it a day. One by one, they all stood up as they were about to leave for the day.

"Alex, please, can you kindly stay the night with us? This way, Mary can prepare to leave with you tomorrow." Herman asked nicely.

"I'm already wasted. Luckily for me, I rented out a room in a motel nearby before I came here." Alex replied.

"No problem, I will reimburse you. Why pay, when you can stay with us for free? This is your second home, don't forget. We are one." Herman suggested.

Seeing Herman's patience running thin, Alex helplessly agreed.

"Okay, I will stay the night here. You don't need to repay me." Alex said

"Alright. Mary will show you to your room then." Herman replied as he looked over at Mary.

Seeing her father's gaze, Mary agreed to her father's suggestion. Shortly after, she looked over to Alex and said, "Follow me, I will lead you to your room."

After that, Alex obediently agreed and followed Mary's lead.

His room was beautiful. It was all white. The floors were white. The bed, stools, chairs, and more were white. It looked simple but prestigious.

Anyway, Alex was wasted. So, he didn't care. He just said his thank-yous and went to bed. However, when he turned off the light. Something cool happened. The white ceilings changed colors. It started projecting the universe on a live display. It was cool and comforting.
