C4 The Rejection

Kelsey's POV

He led me to the backyard,it was filled with almost everyone in the pack and it decorated with my favorite color: purple

It looked so beautiful,just like a fairytale party. All attention was on me, everyone approached me wishing me a happy birthday. Even some classmates that have never spoken to me came to wish me,I plastered a fake smile on my face. After a couple of hours,my cheeks started to hurt. Taylor led me to the dancefloor and we both danced, I was having fun.

A beautiful scent wafted up my nose making me to stop dancing, it smelled like wet sand and pines. "do you smell that?" I asked Tay and she shook her head. "Smell what?" She asked but I just shook my head leaving the dancefloor. I needed to clear my head, I was about to leave to get a drink then my eyes met him. He was staring at me so intently,our eyes met and I felt the world stop. His beautiful green eyes met mine and I couldn't read his emotion. He was just staring with a unreadable expression, I shamelessly checked him out, he was dressed in a casual wear 'a white shirt and jeans' I didn't expect someone to look so hot in casual wear.

He looks so handsome,his muscles damn he looks like he lives at the gym. I could see a bit of tattoos peeking from his shirt. He smirked and then suddenly started approaching me, OMG OMG he totally saw me staring. I tried moving my gaze from him but I couldn't. I tried walking away but suddenly he held my hands, tingles shot up my body, he pulled his hands off. He totally felt that too.

"Hey baby" Stephanie suddenly appeared and pulled him into a hug and that little gesture made my heart ache. "Excuse me" I said and went straight into my room. I couldn't stop the tears from falling,why is this affecting me? I sat on my bed and let the tears fall freely.

Hunter's POV

"Hey baby" an annoyingly familiar voice said behind me, my mate excused herself and ran away.* 'why are you still here,go after her*' my wolf shouted in my head but I ignored him again. "excuse me" I said to Shelly or whatever her name is and walked again. I need to find her and reject her, I don't want a mate right now.

Kelsey's POV

"Hey kels" Tay said sitting by my side,I didn't hear her enter. "Are you okay?" I shook my head and she just pulled me into a hug and I cried on my shoulders. We stayed like that for a while,"I found my mate" I said suddenly and she pulled me back saying "OMG I'm so happy for you" she said with a smile but she frowned looking at me. "Why are you sad? I thought you would be happy about finding your mate" she said but I shook my head. "I am happy but I think he would reject me" I said, my eyes filled with tears again.

"Why would you say so?" She asked and I told her everything that happened. "it might be a little misunderstanding,you know how Stephanie is? Try approaching him once again" she said wiping my tears. Maybe she's right,I might be overthinking this.

"You messed up your make-up" she said making me laugh. "I'm sorry Tay" she waved me off and started applying my makeup again.

Kelsey's POV

I went straight to the bar,my throat was really dry and a cold drink was the solution. Ethan appeared behind the bar,"what can I get you princess" he said with a cheeky grin,he knows how much I hate being called princess.

Ethan was one of the few people who spoke to me at school,he also hates Stephanie. "A chilled glass of water please" I said ignoring his teasing, he gave me a glass of water. I took a sip and a sigh escape my lips, "you okay kels?" he asked and I just nodded. I felt a presence from behind and from the goosebumps I'm getting right now I think I can guess who it is. I turned around and he was just standing there with the same poker face. Does this man ever smile?.

"I believe we need to talk" he said for the first time tonight and his voice sent shivers down my spine, "Hey kels,are you okay? Do you know him?" Ethan asked worriedly but I shook my head and said to him "it's okay Ethan,I know him" I said but he didn't seem to believe me. He eyed my mate from head to toes and turned to me "okay,just call when you're not feeling comfortable with....him" he said still eyeing him earning a growl from my mate. "Can we go somewhere quiet" he said clearly irritated. I nodded and led him to the dining inside the packhouse. "okay so this should be quick" he said quietly,

"What will?" I asked

"You don't think I would accept you as my mate,do you?" he said coldly.

"Yes of course,the moon goddess paired us for a reason" I defended trying to hold back my tears.

"You must be kidding me, I'm the alpha of crescent Moon pack and you don't expect me to have a weak Luna do you" he said angrily making me flinch. I wasn't expecting that from my mate, I've always expected my mate to accept me without any complain,to love me unconditionally, to not judge me but I guess I was wrong.

A tear slipped down my face, "Kelsey dear, I've been looking everywhere for you" my dad said entering with Taylor by his side. "What's going on" Taylor added. I just wanted to run and hide but I felt my leg suddenly heavy and rooted to the floor.

"The moon goddess must have made this one mistake,I just can't believe I get a mate that can't even shift" he continued not minding my dad standing by his side.

"You two..are mates" my dad said pointing the both of us, I felt numb. I couldn't talk or even nod to answer his question.

"You are no fit to be a Luna,look can't even shift for fuck's sake . How can you be my Luna,I can't ever make you my Luna" he said and I felt my whole world crash before my eye. "I, Hunter Anderson the alpha of the crescent blood moon pack reject you Kelsey Alexander as my mate and Luna of my pack" he said and my wolf howled painfully,I could feel my heart breaking literally. And I took off straight into the woods, I ran as fast as my legs could take me, suddenly pain went over me as I crash straight to the floor.

My body felt like it was on fire,my bones start to shift. My clothes shredded and then I looked down and my hands are replaced with fur. Oh my goddess, I finally shifted. My senses are so much better, I could hear the birds chirping, my eyesight was much more better and I could smell the nature. This was more better than I expected.

"Hey,my name is Emerald and I'm your wolf" the voice boomed in my head and I couldn't help but shiver by the sound. She sounded like she was in pain and I understood that. We just got rejected by our mate. "I'm sorry for being a weak human" I said trying to apologise to her but she replied"it's not your fault Kelsey,I should have been here sooner but I couldn't because you weren't ready for me" she said and I suddenly felt my leg go weak and then everything went blank.
