C16 Vajra Parrot

"It's not just any spirit beast with a hint of Dragon Qi, nor is it a mere creature in name only. It's a genuine king among ferocious beasts..."

The parrot was boasting away when it abruptly halted.

It caught sight of a pair of eyes, eyes filled with skepticism and scrutiny.

After a few seconds of hesitation, the parrot ventured, "Uh, let's say, would you believe me if I told you I'm the owner?"

"Yes, I believe you!"

Wang Yan nodded, his expression grave. "I've changed my mind. I want to purchase a Vajra Parrot, one that stays within a meter of me and can speak human language!"

The parrot: "???"

Within a meter and able to speak human language? Why not just ask for it by name?

The parrot remained silent for a long half-minute before turning to look behind and let out a heart-wrenching scream, "Boss, someone's looking to buy your bird!"

The moment the parrot's cry rang out, a flurry of footsteps drew near.

At last, the shop owner appeared!

Standing at two meters with a broad back and round belly, his arms, protruding from his half-sleeves, were as thick as Wang Yan's thighs.

His bushy black beard was unkempt, and his hair was greasy and curled.

Despite his disheveled appearance, his eyes sparkled with life.

"You're interested in this bird?"

The owner looked Wang Yan up and down, his brow slowly creasing.

"Alright, make an offer!"

Wang Yan nodded and replied.

The Vajra Parrot, an elite spirit beast, excelled in close-quarters combat.

Agile in movement, formidable in attack, and solid in defense, it stood among the elite of spirit beasts.

Wang Yan had initially set out to buy a leader, but upon encountering this Vajra Parrot, he instantly had a change of heart.

It wasn't just for its intelligence, which rivaled that of humans, but also for the two skills it had mastered on its own.

Name: Vajra Parrot

Quality: Elite

Level: Rank 1, Star 5

Attribute: Gold

Upgrade: Requires a fully mature Vajra Bodhi seed.

Quality Skill:

Bone Strengthening: An elite skill that significantly enhances bone hardness, boosts bone defense, and amplifies the attack power of claws and beak.

Rank 1 Skill:

Ripper Claw: Delivers three consecutive attacks to the target.

As a melee-type spirit beast, the Vajra Parrot boasts not only formidable innate talent but also two impressive skills.

The Bone Strengthening elite skill, in particular, is nothing short of perfect.

The Vajra Parrot primarily uses its beak and claws to attack, both of which are bone structures.

This elite skill enhances bone density, boosting both defense and attack power—a true double-edged sword.

Such a combat-savvy and intelligent spirit beast should have been snapped up long ago.

Its continued presence here is somewhat tragic.

The stronger the creature, the greater the constraints it faces, a timeless rule of nature.

Take tigers, for instance, the so-called kings of beasts, whose populations are always kept within a very limited range, having nearly faced extinction on multiple occasions.

The Vajra Parrot is no different!

An elite creature with leader-level talent and commendable reproductive capabilities.

Should their numbers reach a critical mass, they would have a colossal impact on the current spirit beast market, potentially shattering the stalemate between humans and ferocious beasts.

Imagine, with just 20 points in constitution required for a contract, their combat prowess is only slightly less than that of a leader.

If each soldier in the Flame Empire were paired with one, the resulting scenario would be nothing short of terrifying.

Yet, such a scenario is unlikely to unfold, given the scarcity of materials needed for the Vajra Parrot's advancement.

Vajra Bodhi, a precious spiritual herb from the spatial rift known as the Vajra Realm, significantly fortifies bones without any adverse effects.

Over four centuries, numerous spatial rifts have emerged, some teeming with ferocious beasts, others desolate, and yet others abundant with spiritual herbs or minerals.

Typically, these rifts are home to a mix of ferocious beasts, spiritual herbs, and minerals.

The Vajra Realm is a prime example!

Due to the presence of Vajra Bodhi, the ferocious beasts within this rift possess exceptionally high defenses and are notoriously aggressive and temperamental.

Every encounter with an enemy was met with a relentless charge, swarming like bees and not ceasing until the foe was shredded to pieces.

The formidable defenses and robust physiques of these creatures posed a significant challenge for the Flame Empire's elite.

Though the empire had the power to annihilate the Vajra Realm, the exorbitant cost of seizing a few spiritual herbs hardly seemed justified.

Consequently, the empire's leadership pivoted their approach, domesticating the Vajra Realm's ferocious beasts into spirit beasts. Once trained, these creatures were tasked with seeking out the elusive Vajra Bodhi.

This strategy provided the Flame Empire with a steady supply line for the coveted herb.

However, the short-lived nature of this initiative meant the Vajra Bodhi was scarcely available on the open market, reserved only for those who had made significant contributions to the military or the Beast Tamer Association.

This effectively sealed the fate of the Vajra Parrot, which, barring any unforeseen events, would likely never ascend to Rank 2.

"The Vajra Bodhi, a treasured spiritual herb from the Vajra Realm, is strictly regulated. Without it, this bird will never advance, even unto death. Are you sure you want it to take up one of your contract slots?" the burly man asked Wang Yan, each word heavy with implication.

"I chose it for a reason," Wang Yan replied with a smile, his confidence unwavering. "What's impossible for you might not be for me."

He reached out and affectionately stroked the Vajra Parrot's head.

"Boss, someone's petting your bird," the Vajra Parrot complained, tilting its head away in displeasure.

"Such confidence? You must come from no ordinary family," the burly man remarked, ignoring the bird's comment. He scrutinized Wang Yan further, a flicker of recognition crossing his face. "You... wouldn't happen to be a Wang, would you?"

"I am Wang Yan."

"Ah, that explains it!" The burly man nodded in understanding. "The heir of the Wang family—no wonder you're so self-assured. Consider the bird a gift, and do send my regards to your father."

"Will do," Wang Yan acknowledged with a nod, then firmly grasped the Vajra Parrot.

No further questions were necessary. The shopkeeper must have had a history with his dad, perhaps a debt of gratitude.

The issues of the past should be left to those who lived it. Wang Yan had no desire to meddle.

"Boss, you're giving up on your bird?"

The Vajra Parrot looked utterly forlorn, struggling to break free, but Wang Yan's grip was unyielding, and it remained trapped despite its efforts.

"His dad's the wealthiest man in M Province, and his uncle commands the military region there. If he can't secure a Vajra Bodhi, you might as well consider your life over."

The burly man dismissed the concern with a wave, "Look after him well. This silly bird is great in every way, except for its smart mouth."

"Thanks, I appreciate it!"

Wang Yan nodded, turned, and walked away.

Once out of the Love Pet Breeding Base, the Vajra Parrot's sorrowful expression vanished.

It leapt onto Wang Yan's shoulder, cocked its head, and asked, "Big brother, can you really get a Vajra Bodhi?"

"Why do you need a Vajra Bodhi? I've got something even better."

With a light laugh, Wang Yan casually shut the car door.
