C2 A Weekend in the Mountains
A week passed since Kristen’s birthday and Zane took two weeks off, to camp with his three of his friends; Camille, Bobby and Lauren. They were his collegemates, and the four of them needed some time off from work. They were only camping for four days, but Zane planned to use the remaining days of his two-week vacation, to tour Teraville, CA with his family. “Hey guys!” said Bobby, “Who’s up for some mountain climbing, later in the evening?” “I’m down!” said Zane. “We should go after lunch!” “Count me in!” said Lauren. “Camille?” “I actually will join you guys, for swimming before lunch.” Camille said. “I sort of have a fear of mountain climbing.” “No problem, Camille!” said Bobby. “Later on, we can do something else.” Zane placed torches around their campsite to keep mosquitos away, while Bobby placed a fence around the campsite, while keeping the torches in the fence, to keep wild animals away from their tents and food containers. Zane then programmed his personal security robot to guard the campsite, so they could go swimming. He installed Z.E.R.O in the robot’s operating system, to keep any intruders and animals at bay. “Alright guys, the campsite is safe!” said Zane. “See you at the lake.” On the way to the lake, Zane received a text message on his smartphone, from Kristen.
Kristen: Did you see today's game, the one against Lakers and Rockets? 🙂
Zane: No, I wanted to but you know how shitty the Internet is on campgrounds in these mountains. 🙁😔
Kristen: I know the score! 😃😜
Zane: Don't tell me! I wanna see the game after we return from camping! 😠😡
Kristen: Lakers lost! Rockets beat them 114 to 109! 😜
Zane: Nah! You didn't! 😡😜
Kristen: You bet I did! 😂
Zane: Fuck you, Kristen! Fuck you! 😜
Zane laughed, and playfully scolded his sister for telling him the score. “Weird girl!” said Zane. He finally arrived to the lake and a few minutes later, his friends followed suit. They had a good time swimming, Bobby had to help Lauren a little, as she was not that good of a swimmer; although she knew how to swim. Bobby and Lauren also were dating one another. The four had a fun time in the cool lake, as the summer was dreadfully hot for the state park. Later, Zane and Bobby prepared meat on the barbecue pit and they all ate lunch. Bobby then made an announcement. “I would like to announce that for the last five years, I was a maintenance technician for the city power grid.” Bobby said. “But they’ve promoted me, to become the power plant’s project manager.” “Amazing man!” said Zane. “That’s also why we all went camping?” “Yup!” said Bobby. “It was my idea, as well as Lauren’s! That’s also why we invited you and Camille.” “Woohoo!” said Camille. “Happy for you!” They all group hugged as they finished eating. A few hours later, everyone save Camille went mountain climbing. The latter stayed behind to also watch the campsite alongside Zane’s robot, powered by Z.E.R.O. It was an amazing weekend already and Zane surely was enjoying it, with his friends.
“Zane, why don’t you have a girlfriend? If you don’t mind me asking?” said Lauren. Zane sighed and said, “I just haven’t found the right girl, yet. I also want to have a girlfriend and get married, but no rush. I’m only twenty-three. I can wait a while.” Zane was looking forward to meeting the right person. He took out his notebook and began to write a poem, which was in his head:

He then recited the poem to his friends, and they applauded him. “This is amazing, Zane!” said Bobby. “You wrote this just now?” “Yes!” said Zane. “And when I find the one for me, I’ll definitely give this to her, out of the love I’ll have for her!” With that, Zane enjoyed the rest of the camping trip with his friends, before he fixed to go home on Sunday.
