Winnie Star is a smart, eccentrically dressed sporadically attending college student who loves books, writing, and coffee shops. She has an insatiable appetite for life and is an offbeat incarnation of her parent’s heydays, the hippie era. After her parent’s divorce and her grandmother’s death, Winnie finds herself even more encroached in the bohemian lifestyle that she had built for herself when she finds herself falling for a man her parents would’ve approved of back in the day.
But living in her divorced parent's shadow isn’t all it's lived up to be. Caught up in a world where she is left disenchanted over its debauchery and the image-obsessed scene, she compensates by crafting her own unique pieces of jewelry that she hopes will leave women feeling precious, beautiful, and validated. Each piece is different and original. Winnie’s new spurt in business growth is a healthy indicator that she is finally branching off on her own.
In a subconscious effort to extract herself from her poisonous relationship with Jasper, she cheats on him with Derek, Jasper’s friend, and bandmate. The breakup and stress from her new business lead to a mental breakdown and she is hospitalized.
