Wuxias are more interesting at this point. I often wonder if the authors have any concept of the negative social image they paint. It's either accurate or these platforms are populated by nascent writers regurgitating the same tropes over and over. Unfortunately tropes tend to hold some truths.

Chinese women apparently aren't allowed to like sex, so the majority of the romances on here are r ape fantasies. Sometimes the combine them with redemption arcs and the ML miraculously changes, which doesn't happen in real life, I hope the young women who read these don't believe them. I haven't read this one. I read comments to see if it's something I've read a 100 times before... If it sounds like it's created by a plot generator, it's a pass.

There appear to be a bunch of negative stereotypes in Chinese society. From reading their books you'd think every step mother and step sister were murderous vipers, Chinese moms are the worst mother in laws, cold emotionally unavailable men are the goal and that r ape magically turns into love. It's pretty weird honestly. I just chalk it up to bad romance novel tropes... Makes me think there's some pretty profound misogyny in the society.
