At 16, as much as we hate to say it, we still need to feel secure. At 16, you need stability, you need to believe in yourself.
 Obviously, nothing happens that way for Merveille Smith.
She is a very ambitious girl, intelligent but above all poor, and she complains constantly about her financial situation. She wants to do everything she can to succeed in life and to raise her family's name.  To achieve this, she will use strong measures! And will go as far as leaving her native country to go to the West! Will it be worth it? Will she manage to raise her family name and improve her social status? Will she be able to have a stable love life if her obsession is relentlessly her social status?
